G35x Understeer or Oversteer?
MY G35x Slide tail out first at tunes on Snow & wet at limit.
Is this under or over steer? The AWD comes on & pull the car back
inline. But I just want to know
tail out first is under or over steer? My search on this site did not answer it.
Also, If I change front spring to Sport (280 change to stiffer 314 spring rate.)
(keep the rear , 308 spring rate)
will the stiffer front spring help to prevent loose tail? Is the change really
enough to feel it?
The Sport springs will lower the front by 0.5", but keep the same rear,
Will this help to prevent the loose tail?
thanks a bunch

To answer the first question, tail-out is oversteer.
(If you hit the wall head-on, it's understeer...if you hit it tail-first, it's oversteer... )
Our cars actualy have a fairly generous amount of UNDERsteer dialed into the setup, as this is safer for 99.9% of the drivers on the road.
When you experience the oversteer condition, this is undoubtedly during throttle application in a turn. The rear wheels break loose, the tail slides out, and the computer shifts torque to the front and applies the appropriate brake to straighten you out.
THIS IS NORMAL !!!
If you were in a front-driver, you would simply lose steering during throttle application as your drive/steering wheels lose traction.
If you were to perform the same actions in the dry, you would experience more of a 'push' or understeer.
I would absolutely NOT set this car up to understeer any more.

G35x Understeer or Oversteer?
Thanks, guys,
I want to lower the front 0.5", either with Sedan Sport or
sedan regular front springs (Replace the G35x front spring which is 0.5" longer).
Would I expect big differenec between the two Sedan springs 280 vs 314 rate? Everything else keep the same. I prefer softer ride but not sure
the springs alone would make a big difference in ride confort?
I have the sedan sport springs at hand, I'll have to go buy the regular sedan springs if teh sport spring will make the ride too hash?
Also, I do use power for corner, because when I let off gas,
the AWD won't come on. Therefore no use for corrections of tail-out,
I would expect stiffer front springs help keep the tail in a bit?
thanks
