Be there done that
OK,
I went through the same dilemma a few months ago. the 42mm offset on 8" wheel is OK, but the wheels will be tucked in the fender well too far. You need to be looking for a 8" wheel with around a 35mm offset.
The 245 45 tire will fit, but it is just too tall, the additional diameter makes the car feel sluggish and hurts handling. I would suggest a 235 45 tire.
My suggestions are based on my previous tire and wheel package. I was using 18x8.5 wheels with a 45mm offset, and 245-45-18 tires. This package never looked right on the car (my car is lowered), the handling was worse than the stock 17" package, plus the larger diameter tires hurt acceleration.
I recently changed to a 18x8 wheel with a 35mm offset and 235-45-18 tires. This package has made my car feel great and it looks perfect.
