I think they put it there just to make the x stick out a little. Since you cant get any other cool/sport options. First time I noticed it at the dealer they were not even aware of the diffrence.

I've got a set of the 18s comming off my car tomorrow, because I upgraded to 20s. They are in pefect condition and the tires only have 3000 miles on them.

yes yes the "hole" is there to allow more airflow for the AWD.. only the AWD sedans have that.. (i believe) the reg g's dont have that. for some odd reason the X gets hotter quicker or something.. stupid X :]

The hole is there to allow airflow to keep the awd transaxle to keep cool, apparently it needs the airflow....
