Help: Tein Coilovers Rear Dampening Adjustment
Help: Tein Coilovers Rear Dampening Adjustment
I have Tein CS installed on my coupe & I'm trying to access the adjustment **** for the rear dampening. I was told this needed to be access from inside the vehicle.
I have now taken apart the passenger side rear trunk panels, however I do not see access to any dampening adjustment **** or even the top of the shock? Besides metal, the only thing I see is a hard piece of material patched over what appears to be the gas tank area.
Your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

You can get to the front adjustment easy. The back you will need to pull the shocks and do the adjustment. I would try your adjustments at Front 12 clicks from soft, back 14 clicks from soft.
Yes I did a more thorough search & found a discussion on the D-specs rear adjustment, involving removal of the shock
When installed by a shop I had the adjustment (F/R: 8 clicks from hardest) per Tein recommendation. Now all of a sudden after 6 months (8,000 kms) I noticed a very floaty feeling when driving, especially at higher highway speeds. Actually feels worse than stock setup right now.
As a result I adjusted the fronts to full stiff, however the rears feel very unsafe & I'm assuming this has to do with the soft setting. Cornering is terrible at the moment....
My question is:
Is is relativey simple to unbolt the top of the shock & make the dampening adjustment? I've never done this before, is it a straight unbolt, adjust & bolt back on. For the experienced individuals, what are some careful steps to avoid any damage to myself or the vehicle? Last thing I want to do it damage something...
Thanks!

Its an easy adjustment. Should not take more than an hour. just raise your car up and pull the shocks one at a time and do your adjustment. Just a quick note: Check your tire pressure and see to it they are perfect. Low pressures can make you think its the shocks
