frustrated! only 3200 mi and brakes feel weird!?

hey guys

so i picked up my sedan in early november. i've put about 3200 miles on the car, with no really rough driving on it. probably a 65/35 split between city and highway driving. i've taken it through the hills here in norcal a few times, but never really taxed the brakes much.

i posted earlier about feeling like the engine was revving while i was stopped/stopping: thread about that.

lately, in addition to that i've felt like the braking process in general feels very different. by different i mean, it feels a lot rougher. i get a lot more vibration through the brake pedal. i feel like the car groans when i'm coming to a stop. i didn't used to feel the ABS pulsing, but now it seems like i do, even tho i'm not going at fast speed and braking within a short distance. i'm one of those "roll as much as you can to a stop while gradually slowing down" guys, so i'm not getting close to the intersection and jamming on the brakes. my brakes used to feel really smooth. not grabby, just like when you pushed on the brake, it was there, feeling complete and smooth. now it feels like it takes longer to stop, vibrates more, and sounds different (although it's not like a loud sound).

i'm not sure what to make of this. i've scheduled an appt with my dealer to bring it in and they said they'll take a look at it (and fix a center console/windshield rattle while they're at it). i'm pretty frustrated. only 3200 miles and this is the 2nd time my car will be in to the dealer (first time was for really bad/loud rattles and squeaks).

could my rotors be warped already? i don't hear any regular squealing, although 2 mornings ago, i heard it squealing while turning before the ABS check occurred, but i couldn't reproduce it.

i'm frustrated and i'm worried the dealership will just tell me "oh those are your brakes after they're broken in, it's supposed to feel that way". it doesn't seem normal, heck even the loaners i've had feel better and people usually beat the crap out of them. the other thing is the brake issue doesn't seem consistent. it's on and off. i dunno what to do... any ideas? suggestions?

bumping to see if anyone has any input. i'm dropping the sedan off tomorrow to get this issue looked at along with a couple of really loud annoying rattles/squeaks. i noticed after a braking-intensive drive on skyline, the brakes felt a little better (perhaps they weren't bedded properly?) but they still feel off and i have to push harder on them. could be a problem with the brake fluid/line?

thanks guys

I think I had my pads changed every 6k miles. My friends g's pads went out on him at about the same as you. I'm not sure what the warranty is on an 06 but you should have warranty on the pads and rotors. I have an 04 and brakes are covered 3 years or 36,000 miles. good luck

6k?!?! wow. how do some ppl get like 30k on their brakes then?? is there some faulty hardware that causes them to wear so quickly? i don't want to be spending $500 every 3-4k miles on new brakes
