brake rotor question

Hi ,
my g has Rotora rotors and Project b-force pads for
front and Hawks pads for rear. I don't brake hard, but
my rotors have purplish color. One of the mechanic said
my pads are not good, they don't grab the rotors well
They heat up the rotors alot which is bad. Is he right?
and what's wrong here? For people with after market pads
what's your rotor color?
thanks in advance,
Mike

man, Hawk pads are excellent pads and used extensively throughout the owners here. Never heard of the other pads though b-force? Whatever, did your rotors claim to have a protective zinc coating to prevent rust? If so the friction caused by the pads, plus brake dust could very well cause the color change. A friend of mine had a similar situation, not with rotora rotors, but a set of rotors he bought from ebay to get the drilled/slotted look. He does use hawk hps pads The rotrs had a yellowish "protective zinc coating" on them and after a few days it started to wear off and gave him a weird color. How old are your rotors? Not saying that is the problem, but had something similar happen to a friend. Still get them looked at to be on the safe side.
