air suspension?
air suspension?
hey guys..any systems out there that have electronic height control?i know i can get an airbag system...but that just mean I can make the car raise or lower from any one wheeel right?anything that uniformlhy raises and lowers the car?
Im using the Airrunner " air-ride " suspension with the Dakota " Automatic Digital Ride Height Controller ", dch-2001 with the wire-less remote control option. See link below for the Dakota product.

I have a bagged 97 Toyota Tacoma, so I can help you out w/ this issue. Been lurking for a few months since I'm looking to buy a G35, but I figure I'd add my thoughts into this thread.
Depending on how many switches are available on a switchbox used for an air suspension, you can raise or lower the car at each individual corner, a side at a time, or the whole car (called a pancake). Ususally on a 7 switch box, you have one switch for each corner, a pancake switch, and then a switch each for seesaw front and seesaw back.
Gxclusiv is right, Dakota Digital makes a nice kit, but it is rather expensive. For their DHC-2000 which is the controller system w/ the ride height sensors, it's about $700 on summitracing.com
Best bet is to just get a switchbox w/ 7 or 9 switches, and level it out by eye. That Dakota kit is a little overkill.

hey wassup christaco..u used to post on the customtacos forums?? its kazuo459 from there..the airrunner kit comes w/ paddle switches which dumps inside the cab..gives it that vip look when going down but i used to have that setup on my truck for a bit and i hated the rubber smell in the cab..also, i think w/ the airrunner setup, the two front bags are connected to one switch meaning if u rip a turn, the air from one side will shift to the otherside..better to get valves for each bag..its a lot safer

BTW, if the front setup is on two valves, it's going to drive you nuts w/ the sway even driving in a straight line (uneven bumps, etc). It's horrendous on a turn as well. Not sure what the NPT size is with that kit, but two valves can be had at less than 100 bucks to make it ride that much better.

I'm telling you, you don't need a air ride controller, just use your switchbox. Or just wire in two switches one to raise and lower the front, and the other for the rear.

yeah tein EDFC only adjusts damping not height.
Air bags are what you want but they are not a performance mod by any means, purely aesthetic at the cost of ride quality

correct but it only adjusts the stiffness of the suspension not the ride height. the tein flex coilovers allow you to adjust the height but it is a manual adjustment.
if you want to be able to adjust ride height from inside the vehicle you need air bags but it will be at the cost of performance.

and just to make sure you are clear on this the Tein EDFC is an add on for coilover kits, i know it works with the tein coilovers but probably works with other brands too
