Question Rear rotor stuck

Hi All,

New to this forum, but could really use some advice. My rear brembo brakes finally kicked the bucket on my 2003 G35 (at 38k so I'm not upset) So I bought some aftermarket pads / rotors becuase I didn't want to pay $1600 to the dealer.

Jacked the car, got the wheel off, removed the caliper and replaced the pads no problem. Tried to pull the rotor off but it was frozen in place. I mean really really frozen. Tried convincing it with a couple hammer hits, still didn't move. The damn dust/rain gaurd around the back of the rotor didnt' exactly help the situation either.

Is there another step I'm missing or a bolt to remove? Or have the new-england winters just rusted the damn rotor to the hub? How can I get the freaking thing off!?!?!

All advice appreciated, thanks!!

Make sure your hand brake is disengaged. Use a rubber mallot and keep giving it whacks all around until the rust flakes stop falling, then give it a try.
