Two piece rotors for G37S (front) offered by RacingBrake

RacingBrake is pleased to offer G35Driver.com members an exclusive deal on a two-piece rotor that can replace 08-09 Infiniti G37S bulky and heavy OE rotors (w/Akebono calipers), and as a BBK upgrade for G35 (G35 users will need to make sure they have enough clearance with their rims before upgrading to the Akebono Calipers). We measured the OE rotors and will design and build a much lighter rotor while retaining OE fitment and superior quality standards.

This two-piece rotor will be built with our patented and innovative convergent vane uni-directional, center mount design that allows for quicker and more efficient cooling than traditional surface mount curved vane rotors. Our rotor hats are machined from the forged aluminum alloy that provides extra strength and stiffness over cutting from stock aluminum billet. Learn more about RB's two piece rotors.

Here is a picture of the stock G37S Rotor showing ~30 lbs (the heaviest rotor we have seen in our 25 years in the brake business. As a comparison, the Corvette Z06 - a 505 HP muscle car - front rotor weighs 26 lbs. See our thread in the Corvette forum entitled Complete Z06 Brake Upgrade offered by RacingBrake (14,000 views and is honorably collected in their FAQ)

Come on guys... This a great opportunity for you to be one of the first ones to have these new lightweight 2-pc rotors (22 lbs weight savings of unsprung weight is HUGE)... No need to spend $3K to replace your Akebono's with lighterweight racing brakes when you only have to spend $600 for these rotors.

RacingBrake 08-21-2009 06:12 PM

This is a great opportunity. We estimate that these rotors will save you 22 lbs on your front brakes. The OE rotors weigh more than a Corvette C6 Z06 rotor!

Request for these rotors go back to 2008 when a user posted this thread on our RacingBrake forum, http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=316

I believe they are only working on the fronts now, but we can always work with them on a matching set of rears once the fronts are done. Myself, I only have the $$ for the front now anyway, so I prefer it to be split out into two phases.. front now, rears in the future.

I see, thanks

Thanks "InTgr8r (open slot)" was added to the list.

"2GoRNot2G" is correct. Rear rotors can be later if needed. We also checked the rear OE rotor and found it weighs 19 lbs and is not as overly heavy as the front, while 2/3 of the brakingneed is in the front.

From our experience, most people don't see (or feel) the need for upgrading the rear unless you are very serious in track. We have matching front and rear two piece for NSX, BMW (M3), EVO, G35/350Z (track)RX7, RX8, Sti, Z06 etc. and found only about 10-15% owners have two piece in their rear, very few buy F/R at the same time.
