Are these zinc plated or have rust prevention?
I like the gold color, but does this then disappear after typical use?

The DBA rotors do have the rust prevention, that gold paint you see is all around the rotor except on the friction surface. Once it is cured it cuts down on rust.

How do these do in terms of life and sound? I still have my OEM rotors on my 04' G coupe with the Brembos and they seem to be going strong. My pads are getting low and I figure after 9 1/2 yrs and 105k it's FINALLY time to change out the rotors now. My car is a daily driver and will never see the track but I do some "spirited" driving on the weekends. I've heard that cross drilled are bad for pad life and slotted are noisy. My intent was just to get a blank set of centric rotors and be done with it, but this seems like a pretty good deal. Are these any "better" for a strictly street car?

These rotors are high quality Australian iron, heat treated for durability on street or on track. These rotors may accelerate pad wear because of the slots/drill holes but not enough to give an actual measurable amount. I have slotted rotors on my car and don't notice an increase in noise. I would say these are better for a street car just because of the durability of the rotor and the aesthetically pleasing appeal.
