Looking to sell a set of Akebono sport calipers that I picked up a little while back off a sport model with ~25k. Front of the calipers were originally painted yellow (G2 kit), but have been sprayed over with several coats of VHT Real Red / Black Akebono Decals / several coats of Clear Gloss engine enamel. These never made it on my sedan before I got rid of it, so calipers are cleaned up and the paint is in great shape. Only thing to note is some unevenness in the paint due to imperfections in the base coat. Largely unnoticeable unless you've got a light on it or are a foot away, mentioning for full disclosure - tried to capture this in the up-close pictures attached. Bare calipers only.

Is there a bracket needed to mount these?

 

I believe that all depends on what you have. From what I recall, if you have a V36 car, then no bracket should be needed. If you have a V35 platform, I believe you need brackets.

Someone can correct me if this is bad info - I know there's tons out there on the forums about this particular mod since so many have upgraded.

 

Yeah, Z1 sells the brackets.

 

 

Yes these will fit the 05 g35 platform (V35) with the bracket from Z1.

 

I'm running 20mm spacers to clear Brembos with 18" rays, I think the Ake's will be similar.

 

oh ok, thanks. I'm very tempted into getting these. They would match my sedan pretty well actually. But I've had my eyes on the hikkatadori trunk for a while now.

 

Z1 has an open box return on those right now the brackets. Great looking upgrade!

 

I am in the same boat trunk, rear, bumper or brakes. The bumper was more than expected. I did see a used cs fg with carbon fiber insert for 375 but I have a tdx2 and will have to do some cutting. Great price on the brakes hmm easier to justify to the wife. It is safer, cough if I decide race around and stop a lot. Good luck on the sale they will probably be gone by the time I make a decision.
