Trading in H2 Hummer for 06 coupe on Thursday or Friday.

Help me make some decisions please

I'm thinking Ivory Pearl '06 coupe 6MT (i'll have to learn how to drive, but I'm sure it would be worth it right?) with the sports package (like the rims), the spoiler, navigation system, XM radio, and the rear active steering.

I'm already looking into what mods to do to it haha What mods are best? I've never modded a car really since modding a Hummer would be, well, pointless.

Probably could spend like $2000 on mods, what would be best to get? I'd rather get a few things than just 1 big thing. Tints will DEFINITELY be 1 of the things I get for cosmetics right away.

Oh and also, I LOVE the 07 coupe but when I asked my dealer when they think they are coming out they don't think till January or later, and I really don't want to wait 6 more months to get a g35 haha. Bad winter here by January and wouldn't have as much fun with it at first, would have to wait till next summer to really unleash the power.

Oh and also, I negotiated the dealer to $39,000 for what I listed with all those options. How did I do?

The MT comes with everything you listed except nav, xm, and rear active steer so like i said before 37-38k is around the right price if youre firm but Congrats on your new G

These forums are awesome how much info is in them, just found out there's a 12 month lease offer going on...maybe I should just do that and then buy an 07 coupe whenever they come out....But then with the new GTR in 08/09 I would want that too haha...so maybe just buy the 06 and hold it for 2-3 years then trade it in for GTR...

Decisions decision!

Oh ya, the deal also includes trading in my '05 H2 with 11,000 miles (only offered 37 for it, i'm gonna try to get them up a little higher here, maybe 38...)

Big change coming from a Hummer, but if it's in you, than you'll love the RWD, MT and everything else about the G. Good luck and enjoy.

Hey, I'm only recommending he trade it in. But seriously how can you "civilianize" a rugged vehicle like a Hummer. What's next? Bradley vehicles with HID's, leathered out, coin holders and stow-and-go seating? That's ridiculous. Take that Hummer out in the field and see how long it lasts. Hummers were designed to be tough and rugged. Now they're cute (H3) and fragile overpriced with plastic everything like the rest of the vehicles out there. It's not a chidlike opinion, it's just completely downgraded to what hummer stands for due to production cost. That is a fact, my friend.

wait a second. are you proposing that the H2 is somehow anything like the military Humvee, or the civvie hummer "H1"? They are NOTHING alike.

Well, let me retract that statement. They are similar in the respects that they both get utter crap for gas mileage (at least the humvee has some sort of excuse for it), and more importantly, they are both totally useless for everyday, street use.

The H2 is a re-bodied suburban/yukon/GM whatever. The only things they don't share are body panels and maybe some interior pieces. That's it. The H2 makes for a decent off-roader, I'll be the first to say that, but seeing as how most of them are being used by moms and 17yr olds in miami, I somehow don't think most are being used to their "potential".

This is nothing against the OP. But defending the H2 is... well, it's a lot like defending the idea of having a rectum on your forehead: useless and funny looking.

But whatever. different strokes for different folks. I just think it's disgusting to think that anyone still thinks the H2 has anything to do with an H1 or humvee.

Well not 1 person really answered any of the questions I had...I'm not here to debate anything about the H2 guys.

Just wanted to know if $39,000 for 6mt, navigation, premium package, spoiler, xm radio, and rear active stearing was a good deal I got or not.

I paid just a hair over 39K for my fully loaded 05. I think it's money well spent and average of what you'll pay anywhere else.

Doesn't matter where you go, the Hummer will always stir up debate.

I'd say the deal is ok, but you could prob do a little better.

Honestly, if it was me I would wait for the new coupe. Sure you have to put up with a winter at first, but what about all the other years you will be driving, and seeing that sweet new coupe pass you on the highway
