hello all! good forum! i'm a current '01 Honda S2000 owner, and i'm planning on upgrading to a used G35 coupe! so excited...i was thinking about waiting for the '07 G35 (i think with the new body) to come out so that the price on the older models drop and i can get the '05! quick question tho. is there a big difference between the '03/'04 and the '05/'06? i think there was a HP increase, yes? anything else? o yea, and anyone know when the '07 will come out? thanks for the input ppl!

 

05/06 has hp increase and torque decrease. Pretty much equals the same thing unless you are mr hardcore racer car guy that knows every little spec of his car and does nothing but drive around the redline.

 

more HP less torque would make it faster high end, no? while more torque would give power in the lower RPMs. hmm, dunno what kind of a difference that will make...

 

Rev-up engine in the newer models, Brembo brakes in the 03/04's. Pretty much a trade off there too.

The biggest difference though are the BREMBO Brakes that come on the 03/04. Dont know why they stopped putting them on the 05/06 but the BREMBOs are sick. 03/04 coupes have 280hp while the 05/06 have 298hp. The 03/04 can easily be upgraded to 300+hp. I have an 04 and when its driving the BREMBOs are really noticable.

 

omg...the '05/'06 don't have those beastly brembo brakes?! those are so hot...

 

what about the interior? everything pretty much the same? any new nifty little buttons and stuff on the '05/'06? gosh, i'm thinkin' about the '04 now instead of the '05...BREMBO BRAKES!

 

the early model 03's had some upgrades to the interior (such as center console design, center arm rest too maybe?) that were changed a bit in later 2003. Not sure on much else though...
Oh yea, don't the 06's have projection headlights?

 

yes 06` have projectors but NOT the 05` models

 

The '06s have the real aluminum center console, the nice 19" wheels, telescoping steering wheel, projector headlights, fully powered seats that includes powered reclining seats, mp3 cd changer, bluetooth(i believe), slightly restyled front fascia and rear wing.

 

There we go, that sounds like the whole shabang right there...

 

Ok quick rundown.....03/04 less hp , more tq, cheaper interior, smaller wheels(18") some minor faults. 05/06 more hp, less tq, real aluminum trim, metal pedals, bigger wheels, 06's offer Blue tooth, memory seating, different lip, spoiler, bumper, taillights.

 

I'm considering buying a G35 myself. Any reason why Infinity stopped putting the Brembos on the newer models? This is making me think to buy a 03-04 myself.

 

i had this problem when i was getting mine. i got mine about 3 weeks ago. I went w/ the 04 because of the brembo and i absolutely hate the 06 spoiler compared to the previous models but thats me. well gl w/ ur pick whichever it may be.

 

As mentioned before in past posts about this topic, I think they stopped offering Brembos as a tradeoff for better wheels and other amenities while still being able to keep the MSRP approximately the same. It was basically a cost cutting measure. Also, I think they also felt their buyer segment preferred more luxury and amenities rather than more performance, so they sacrificed the Brembos. The Brembos are probably overkill anyway for a GT cruiser which is essentially what the G35c is.
