Question Would you recommend it?

Hi guys, I am looking into purchasing a coupe in the near future and I just had a question for you guys. I live in the Cayman Islands and we do not have an infiniti dealership down here, which means that if I DO get a g I wouldn't be able to get it under warranty. Would you recommend that I go ahead and purchase a g? I have been reviewing the website and I have noticed alot of small problems with the g that are being fixed under warranty.

Would i end up spending alot of money fixing these little problems??

I don't know what to tell you EXCEPT that I've owned my G for 17 months now and haven't had to take it to the dealer for anything. There are probably a few things that I could have taken it in for, but I chose to fix them myself (minor squeaks and rattles, etc)..

It would be a risk, for sure. If you got a 6MT and the clutch/tranny gave you trouble, that could get expensive.

If I just so happen to have tranny problems, would I just have to replace it once, or would it be an ongoing problem?

Without warranty could be major money.....I'd suggest purchasing something with a warranty on it.
You sure there's nobody there who is Nissan approved to service a G?

If warranty if useless for him, would purchasing a G35 with a salvaged title be better for him? I mean you're literally saving thousands of dollars since warranty's voided.

You can get approval from Infiniti Corporate and ask if you can use a Nissan dealership. The cars are similar to the 350z so its worth a shot.

Honestly, from my own experience, I wouldn't own a G outside of a warranty...

I would think you can find a Nissan dealer who can do it. There is a nissan dealer over hear that even advertises on TV that they can provide warranty service on Infiniti's to save you the drive to the Infiniti dealer.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We do have a nissan dealership in the island, but they are worthless!! I really doubt they would honor the warranty. I am actually looking at a g that is already on island. The owner of the g says that there is nothing wrong with it, but I have heard through the grapevine that it has a tranny problem. I mean if the problem would be solved by just replacing the tranny then I would do that, but if its gonna be a recurring problem then I dont know what i'm gonna do.

It really sucks cause I love to g and I have been looking into one for a while now.

OK. infiniti has a great name for a reason, regardless, warranty comes for a reason. no matter how great the car is or how reliable the car is, warranty makes the car much more reliable. thus, my answer is, NO! if u were to buy a brand new infiniti, it comes with a 4year warranty, and wutever could go wrong, it would be cover. thus, NO! DO NOT BUY THE CAR UNLESS IT COMES WITH WARRANTY!!!!

What Finance Companies Sometimes Do Offer Is Mechanical Breakdown Insurance(mbi) Yea I Know The Initials Dont Match. This Insurance Plan Will Cover Alot Of Things Even The Dealer Warranty Wont Cover. We Offer Where I Work(wescom Cu) But We Dont Go Out That Far... Try Researching Something Like That... Its Great For All Kinds Of Purchases.
