I leased a 06 coupe in december of 05,so every once and a while i call to see what the pay off is on the carbecause i really dont like it and want to get out of it as soon as possible. Everytime i call its still about the same. I have made about 8 payments now and I think the pay off has only gone down about a $1000 out of all the payments i made. Anyone know when it starts to go down?

 

Did you lease through infiniti? Either way call the leasing company and ask for an explanation of the lease payment and how it is applied. X dollars will be state tax, X will be for principal, and X will be for interest. As with any loan, first year your payments are applied to pay for mostly interest. A lease is just like a normal loan, just the amount financed is different.

So if it is a 24mth lease, price paid is 32000, and turn in value is 20000, your lease payment is based on financing 12K over a 2 year period.
