Hey Guys,
I've been surfing the forum for a while now, posting here and there when I actually have something worthy to contribute. Now I finally got my raise at work and wanted to treat myself. I've been in love with the G for a while now. When they first came out I wasn't impressed but it really grew on me. It grew on me so much that I don't even want to consider anything else. I'm still a young guy but have grown out of the "My car is faster than yours phase"(even though my car is not fast anyway haha) and want something with sophistication with a touch of sport.
I figure a lease would be a good route to go because of my driving habits. I was thinking about a 12k/year plan. I took a trip on Saturday to one of the local Infiniti dealerships. I went to Don Rosen Infiniti in Willow Grove, PA. The other one is just the same distance from me, just in the opposite direction, which is Flemington Infiniti in New Jersey. I may have to check them out.
I got there and immediately fell in love with an ivory pearl 6MT coupe with stone interior and black dash.
It's specs:
IP 6MT Coupe
Premium Package
Rear Wing (Not sure if it had the complete Aero Package)
Without Nav
Mudflaps
Trunkmat
Sticker MSRP: $38,700
Before I could even enjoy looking at the car by myself a salesman jumped up my ***, which is weird because I am a young guy and dressed in my Eagles jersey. I don't even get that kind of attention at my toyota dealership haha. He didn't have any extra information that I already didn't know. So we made small talk and also discussed the new coupe which he didn't know much about as well but said it was due for an '08 model which we already knew.
So we sat down and ran some numbers which were kind of hard for me to believe because of all the threads I have already read in this forum. Basically I said I was going to be able to throw 3k down and looking for either a 24, 30 or 36 month lease. I couldn't see the point of doing only a 12month loan even though he said it would probably benefit me with a 6 month extension. I dont think im gonna drop 3k down for a car i will only have for a year and a half, tops.
For the 24month lease these are the numbers:
Price of $37200 ($1500 off sticker)
$3000 down at signing
12k miles a year
$487 a month
That definitely seemed a bit too high. What do you all think? Maybe he knew that I wasn't going to leave the place with a new car that day and that he didn't want to give me the best figure possible? Or just a cheapo saslesman trying to take advantage of a young guy. He said to call him in a month because they will be trying to get rid of the '06's to make room for the '07's although there was only 3 6MTs and one was already sold. I know my fair share when it comes to cars. But struggle when it comes to finances. You guys have any thoughts?
Sorry for such a long thread I'm just getting way too over excited.
Any input would be very much appreciated!
Thanks!
-Steve

Selling price is way too high for this time of the year, I would not pay more than invoice anywhere! Here in NorCal? ppl have been paying 3~500 below inovice for last 2~3 months now...also, it is important to know whats the residual and M/F when leasing, did that 487 including the sale's tax?.
It would've be easlier to deal with "internet" sales person rahter than floor sales person.

^^^ I think I may just do that. My boss actually dealt over the internet to a dealership in Chicago (we are outside of Philly) and the car was shipped to his house, easy as that.
