2006 Sale Price

I am going to buy a new G35 sedan in early November. I was told by the Infiniti dealer that the 2007s are coming out in late October/early November. Considering that, do you think these prices I am thinking of offering are doable? I am located in South Carolina if it matters.

2006 G35 sedan with Premium B and Sport Suspension:

MSRP - $36,250
Edmunds suggestion - $32,400
Me - $31,500 OTD (our taxes and fees total less than $500, sales tax is only $300)

2006 G35 sedan with Premium B, Sport Suspension, and Navi:

MSRP - $38,050
Edmunds suggestion - $34,085
Me - $33,000 OTD

I have read through threads on here discussing the actual sales prices and mine seem reasonable based off of what other people have paid. Some have bought the same cars (same options), of course in a different region, for less than what I am thinking of offering. Thoughts? I will likely be trading in my current car (2004 Solara SLE V6, 26k miles) which should also help with negotiations assuming they give me a fair value.

I don't suspect you will be able to get this deal in early November. There will still be many 06s left on the lots and the dealers will be wanting to get rid of these first. I very well could be wrong though. Good Luck!

EDIT: Don't be fooled by the sales price based on your Trade-In though. I highly recommend you nail down the sales price, then talk trade in with the dealer. Many times the deal will look great, but what they are really doing is screwing you on your trade-in. My opinion is: Don't trade. Sell your car private party, then buy. Or buy the G, and then sell your current car private party. You WILL get more selling this way.

Best of luck though!

I am going to buy a 2006, that is the reason I think I will be able to get a new sedan with Premium B and Sport for $31,500 or so. If they have the exact car I want on their lot, even better, though the salesman was not at all hesitant in suggesting trading cars with dealers if they don't have what I want (have never had an issue in the past with a dealer negotiating less on a dealer trade). Of course, I'm willing to pay more but I'm certainly not going to let them know that.

As for the trade, if they give me even the average of what all appraisal sites say (my car is truly in excellent condition, people can't believe how **** I am about it), I will be happy. The extra money (according to appraised values) by selling on my own is not worth delaying the new car unless the dealer absolutely tries to screw me.

Go for it! That's a good deal and they WILL be wanting to get rid of the 06' cars left on the lot.

PS: Go for the Navi, I regret not getting it.

Current Edmunds prices take into a number of factory to dealer incentives on the 06's. This is to help the dealers move out the 06's. The actual incentive varies based on the model. In either case, I doubt Infinity will be offering incentives early in the 07 model year unless the cars aren't selling.

In addition, very often with new models there is a price increase which isn't reflected in Edmunds prices.
