2006 G35 Coupe /Sell or trade

Hello Members I currently financed a 2006 G35 coupe in January of this year I now owe $28,700 on the car. I really loved the G35 when I first bought it, but have come to realize that I get tired of things easily especially with all the rattles and the stiff suspension, I got the sport package. Since owning this car I have taken it in about 7 or 8 times for minor problems, window up and down, TMPS light etc that are problems I see all over. I was wondering what’s the best advice you can give me in terms of getting rid of the car before another payment is due and I become even unhappier. It has 12800 miles on it right now and I would like to do this before the winter hits in Connecticut. What’s the best way to get out of this I don't have the title so I cannot private sell? Should I Sell to Car Max and buy a beater for the winter and wait for next year to but the 07 G35X or should I trade for a 2007 G35x Sedan now. I know I will be taking a loss whichever way but which is better? Sell or trade?

Thanks

If your car has been in the shop 3 or more times for the same problem, sign for arbitration paperwork and the dealer will buy it back for you. Selling the car to Car Max is also a good idea, they'll give you the best resale value than any other.

if you sell it to carmax it takes time for them to process all paperwork since you have a lien on the vehicle. also carmax will charge you some hidden fees to purchase your vehicle from you.

INCORRECT! I work for Carmax there is absoluetly no hidden fees in purchasing a car from you. Why would we charge you a fee for a new source of inventory? A tradition dealer for sure will charge you all sorts of fees to buy a car from you but CARmax does not. Take it there, the appraisal is free and takes about 30 minutes. Quick and Painless! Seems like what you owe on it is pretty good and seems about what the market for your car would be about right now. Only downside right now is that its not "sports car" season but still I think carmax could hit/surpass your payoff for sure!

Carmax calls and asks for a 15 day payoff. Usually takes about 7-10 days to payoff a car but we ask for the 15 days just incase. So if you payment is not yet due and you still have your grace period, the car would be paid off in more than enough time. Also if it was getting close, you could always call infiniti and tell them that the pay off check is on it way and they would probably give you an extension.

you can still sell private party with a lienholder... thats how i bought mine.... you might have to sign an authorization for payoff as most lenders want in order to have a 3rd party payoff that loan... pm me if you have questions and i can asnwer them with much more detail.
