Carmax or Dealership?

I have a car that I want to sell/trade-in. I'm not really looking to do a private sale, as I don't have the time. But Carmax is a pretty easy option.

Should I sell to Carmax and use that money as down payment or should I just trade it in to the Infiniti dealership when I pick up a FX? I'm asking because I'm not sure what kind of tax implications there are in Illinois for selling or trading in a car. I guess I feel that I'd probably get a little more at Carmax for my car. What do you guys think? Let me know if you can share some insight into this. Thanks!

See how much you will get at both dealerships and then pick the best one. I went to infinity and they gave me a price for my 01 firebird and then they told me to go to carmax and see how much they will give it to me for. I did, and carmax's price was $1,000 more.

Thanks for your input. I think I'll just go into Carmax too and get a free quote.
