Question Good Deal ???

Hey guys

I was quoted $517/ month for 39 months for an 07 G35x sedan w/ premium package, 15k per year & tax w/ 3,500 total out of pocket... I am negative $3,000 on a current lease that is worked into the price of the new car. I live in North Jersey and this was quoted from a dealership that I purchased 3 cars from. They claim to be 265.00 under invoice. Thanks in advance for your assistance....

With the upside down lease factored in, all we can really do is make guesses.

As you have a pre-existing relationship with dealer, ask him to spell out the residual and money factor.

I know it has been explained several times, but I just do not understand the calculations with the money factor vs the residual value...

That is ok. Your dealer will know. Once we have that, we can tell you if it is a good deal or not.

If you are negative $3000 on your current lease and you are considering getting out of it to put $3500 down on a new lease then maybe you need to reconsider leasing a car at all. Your leases are costing you way more than it would if you had just bought the car. Oh yea what happens if someone rear ends you as you pull out of the dealership. You will loose every dime you have put down on your leases. Driving around with $3500 on your bumper sounds like a risky proposition to me?

With exactly those numbers you can get the M35x .... but 12K miles....
Alot of 'more' car for the same amount.

Try pulling the dealer down to $475/month if you are sticking with the g sedan.
If he doesnt budge... try Ray Catena Infiniti in Edison, NJ --- speak to Tom A. tell him Pavnesh sent you... he is pretty good... i have leased two infinitis there.... basically shop around if your current dealer doesnt get you a better deal than the one you posted.

I think by $3500 out of pocket he means first month payment (517) + taxes (approx. $800) + dealer fees (incl. reg.) (approx. $700) = ~$2000 .... so invariably he might be putting $1500 down...

If he can get out of putting the $1500 down then it might be a good deal to go with.... but i wasn't shopping for the 07 G sedan and therefore have limited knowledge to say if its a good deal or not.

If he is putting > $1 down then he is risking money. Personally I would never put anything down on a lease. Not taxes, not dealer fees, nothing! Roll it into the lease and let it ride. You will pay a little more in the end but you will have the security of knowing that you won’t loose your @ss on the lease if some idiot in a Mack Truck plows into you.

I was almost rear ended by that very same truck this morning. I was stopped dead in traffic and he was doing 45 mph. He swerved and missed my back bumper by 1 foot. He didn’t even hit his breaks until he passed me! If he had hit me then I would probably be driving a new 07 G35 this weekend for the exact same payment as I was making on my 05! And all of that without any money down! That would have almost made the whiplash worth it!

Thanks for all the info guys... If you really think about it, I am only putting $500 down onthe car because I am technically paying the $3000 in my inception fees. I typically do not put money down on leases, but I am sick of driving my 05 Altima and would like to get a G for the lowest monthly payment. I am going to have the car inspected this week by Nissan's 3rd party inspection company, and if all goes well, I think I am going to pay off the lease once and for all and talk to Lynnes Infiniti and see what they could do on a lease with no money down... What ballpark should I be in for the following.
07 G35x
Premium package
39 months
15k per year
0 out of pocket
