Question Cost to trade in Auto for Manual

Hi, I currently own a 5AT coupe with 40k miles on it. It has the sport package and no navigation system. I really want a 6MT in Dark Blue for around the same amount of miles and options. Will it cost me more to trade it in? How much of a hassle is it to trade in a car for another?

You would lose big time trading it in. You would be much better selling it private then look around for the MT you want.

The thing is, my parents got me this car and I want the process to be less of a hassle as it can possibly be for them because they have done so much for me. I probably wont be able to take over and sell privately then buy a MT because they like to be in control and are just like that.

Is an 5AT with the same options and mileage of a 6MT worth more?

in many cars case yes... but not so much with this car and other sports cars...
well if you trade they will still have to go to the dealer and sign off on it.. regardless, your parents will have to be there... and FYI its very hard to find the midnight Blue.

It's nice to see someone smart enough to look into the trade. So many people on here want to just do a 6MT swap. Such a bad idea...

I was in that position last time i was at the dealership. My car is a 2005 Black coupe with sport package (27000 miles). the salesperson said I can even trade with their Manual RED 2004 coupe with (22000 miles).

But the car looks beat up. and the leather seats look worn pretty bad. so I rejected
