When searching for the year by year changes for the 05-06 G I simply come across posts from members stating how they are tired of answering the same questions over and over with. (Don't blame you) But at the same time I found these two pictures:
The first is an 05 as seen below



the second is an 06



Can anyone explain to me WTF is the differences other then the 06 front bumper inlets seem to look more aggresive then the blue 05's... but it could be the paint color. I am getting old thus hard of seeing.

Here is a pic of the taillight differences. Remember blue G is 05 red is 06





The only thing I can tell is the l.e.d shape looks more clear on the blue one and the blue one has a bigger reverse light shape compared to the red 06 having more of a thinner rectangular reverse light... Owners please give two cents... Furthermore, the 06 looks to have a smaller not so wide rear wing compared to the 03-05

Furthermore, besides option changes from the 05-06 what is different about the 2 if say we take both years, with the same color, same option list, same tranny... what is cosmetically different inside and out between those two years?
And since we all can't stand those that are new the the interwebs and don't know how to search, can we find a similar post that goes into greater detail then this one and sticky it in the newb section?

P.S. for those other G newbies (like me) here is where I read some good basic info on year by year changes on this site hope this helps I already know the differences between 03-04 vs 05 year but I figured those that are curious can do the same research I did.

The 06 rear lights are also not flat like the 05's - they are indented a bit -- if you look closely in teh pic you've provided youc ans ee - or if you look at an 06 with bats overlays you can see where they are not flat...

The 06 rear spoiler is in fact much smaller - more sleek looking i guess you could call it.

as far as the front bumper - you are correct - the sport bumper in 06 has more aggressive openings at the bottom - a bit more pronounced - nothing earth shattering, but again - perhaps a bit more sleek looking...

06's also have projector headlights - i am pretty sure 05's do not.

Also notice the sideskirts on the 06 are a bit more aggressively shaped coming from the front wheel.

Kricci, thanks for response. Do you have an 06? I tried lookin at your profile but it didn't say. Good observation on the taillights being flat. I've heard that the 06 headlights had a recall on them, have clear turnsignal lamp, and the 2006 headlamps don't have the light strip that the 03-05s do... What is this strip that they are talkin about? Is it the strip I see on the outter side of each headlight posted below...? Guess I should check the lighting forum... brb Here is a pic of what I'm talking about

Also, recently read that the older models don't have the steering wheel buttons light up... can anyone confirm this? By older model do they mean the 03-04? or 05+????
