I am new to this site, and looking hard for my next vehicle while working on getting the silverado sold. I'm looking around at the 03 G35's. Are there any major issues with these that I shuold check for as soon as I find the car? I already checked one out at the local infiniti and loved the feel of the car, but they were marking it up far too much. (asking 24K for an 03 with 64,000 miles.. can EASILY be found for 17 and I can get them at the auctions for 16 or lower if I wait it out awhile because I have a dealers license).
So short version what are possible major issues with an 03? How can I tell if it has Xenon headlights (or did they all have these)? Lastly, what avg MPG are you guys seeing out of the G35's AT and MT?

If you have a wholesale license, you know that the auction cars are usually beat up pretty bad.
You also know the recon costs. So just pick one up at auction and recon it yourself to save some $$$.

Golden bullet cars are near perfect condition and run through all the time. You also get plenty of off lease and re-posessed cars that come through in good-great condition for little cost. If I was looking to buy a wreck you're right I would be better off buying it from the insurance yards, but not at the auctions I'm use to. Ive only seen a few cars run through that have been in the re-built shape (even with a salvaged or clean title)
Blew, wanna sell it yet? lol
blah figures, /oh well congrats on the buy man, that is a pretty good deal. Hoping I find something like that at the highline sale in atlanta later this week!

My standard for a used car that can be sold is fairly high.... I won't even show used cars I wouldn't buy for myself.Originally Posted by racingtiger03

Your average auction car will usually have 3-5k in recon at our dealership; front-line ready cars are not sent to auction. The dealer/wholesaler that sends a front line ready car stands to lose all of the recon money....
Ah, I thought you were saying they were all wrecked or in bad shape. Yeah they're not all gonna be "perfect" but you can find some tha are really close with a few minor scratches. ex. theres one in nashville now that only needed about 10 hours of work on it to have it perfect. Just some minor scratches (normal wear and tear) and a door ding *shrug*. Im gonna try one more attempt with the local dealer on the car I fell for, because it is pristine. 63k miles but the car has only one scratch on it, and from what I could tell was garage kept until the dealership got a hold of it. Also it has every option in the book that you can have without a 6MT. Wish me luck guys.

Take your time and you'll be able to find a coupe under 40k miles....
Be patient and you'll appreciate yourself more for waiting
Good luck.

Yeah, I actually just found one that only has a small 1" ding in the qtr panel on the left side with just 40,300 miles that I should be able to get for around 17000. everything but navi and 18" wheels
. Oh yeah and this one is an 04!
