Exclamation Lookin at buyin a 03 G..what to look for?

so in the next few month i should be buying a G

I Met the guy last week that i would be buying from.... ive looked it over a little but have not yet taken a test drive... heres a detail list

03 G35 Coupe 40k miles 22k asking price (should be able to get lower when time comes)
Dark Grey
Black Leather
Moonroof
some 18inch rims (he says they are some super lightweight rims like 12 lbs each.. i think they are a bronze color) it was a brand i didnt recognize)
Injen C/A intake
Borla Dual Exhause
Skyline badges

didnt see any exterior damage scuffs ect... guy keeps it garaged at home and at work.. didnt see any tears in the leather either

is there any particualr thing that the car is notorious for that i need to look for? anything to advice against??? i love the rims but the 18s on the rear look awfully small

ill get some pics sometime this week i hope

thanks in advance
James

Car has pretty good mileage for an 03.. For that price you can get a 04-05... You should be able to get the car a little under its KBB price... Look around for TSB's and Recalls for that year and model..

Also make sure the maxi-pad in the first aid kit hasn't been used yet.

axle clicking noise, brakes squeeking (when braking or at low speeds), definitely try playing a cd to see if center unit works or not

Thats all I can think of for now =)

I'm a new g35 owner myself (just bought yesterday)
switched from an rx8 (loved it)

looking for more luxury room and performance...

i got a used 06 pearl white 6MT 23K miles with
sports package
19" alloys
basically loaded without navi
with 50K warranty

for $22000 including tax

the thing is I know a guy who runs his own dealership and hooked me up at the auctions. I know you could get a better deal than 22K for an 03, you could probably get an 05 with navi for that price. Good luck

I agree - got my 6mt '04 g35 sedan with 37,000 km (Canadian) for only $20,000 + tax (again canadian dollars). It was stock mind you, but that was what I was looking for. Only thing I continue to hate is the serengeti sand on beige...why anyone would ever choose those colours is beyond me. Guess I'll just need a nice paint job in the future

g35 anyday =] and dude make sure it has an HID kit build in, I just bought a 03 g, and it doesn't have it... if you run the VIN number and it has been manufactured after may 2003 you got the HID, some of these cars are actually a '02 since they build them in December and sold them in '03. Good Luck.
