GottaGETACOUPE!!

Hey all. My name is Brian. I'm new to the forums. Not really new to Nissan/Infinity or the VQ series motor. I had an 03 Z before I got deployed the first time (04'). However, after getting married and starting a family, I sold it for a family sedan. I plan on getting a G coupe this time around for a few reasons. It's bigger than the Z (and now, so am I since i'm no longer a soldier), it has a backseat, and performance is almost identicle (or will be for my purpose). I don't really like the looks of the G37, but I do like the motor. So, in a perfect world, G35 w/VQ37DETT. However, the world isn't perfect. So, just thought I'd intro myself. I look forward to all the info you guys have.

I really wanted an 05 cuz of the Brembos, but if I don't get'em with the car, I'll probably go with Wilwood or Stoptech brakes. As far as the other stuff on the car, I like the intelikey (love the idea actually), but I'm not sure if I'm ready for an auto. If the G is a 3rd car (which it probably will be) then I'm getting a manual just so I can enjoy it more on a track. If it ends up being a 2nd car or intrem car b4 my next family sedan (since it does have a backseat and my son, Nathan, is only 14 months) then I might do auto. Both are pretty quick and fun to drive so it's really just going to come down to whether or not I feel like shifting at the time of purchase.

Thanks for the advice tho. I'm going to go check out teh 06's online and see if I can tell the diff.

Yeah, coupes are at a pretty good price now... Only thing I've noticed is that on autotrader and cars.com a lot of them are overpriced. Just make sure you KBB.com to find the book value of the car. You should also expect to pay less then KBB's price because of the current economy.

Good luck with your purchase...

The only way I'll pay less than bluebook up here (NY) is if it's private seller who needs the money. If I were going to buy from a dealer, I'd just have to bite the bullet because all the Infiniti dealerships (luxury dealerships in general) are...well...we'll just say I have yet to hear a good report from those who make under $250k a year. I work at a dealership so I'll probably just get one from a Manhiem auction once I get to that point. I have seen a nice one from a private seller...only 14k, but it has 70k+ miles and I'm not sure if I want that as a starting point.

Wow! Talk about price cut. I paid that much for my premium 05 IP sport this past may. I had circa 22.5K miles when I picked it up

Wow. Y'all are making me wanna jump on something sooner than later. Isn't that always the way. The day I plan on buying, they'll probably jump up to 30-35k again or something...lol
