need help purchasing g35 coupe

whats going on fellas? i test drove a g35 over the weekend and then i went back and test drove it again today and absolutely fell in love.
the car i test drove was a 2005 coupe 6 speed with 69,000 miles and they were asking 18,000.

i know i can do better, so i called up one of my dealer friends and he told me he would go to manheim auto auction and keep an eye out for me. only thing is i dont know what exactly to tell him to look for other then a g35. im not looking to spend anymore then 16-19,000.

as far as manheim auto auction goes, its one of the biggest auto auctions in the world. get all different types of used vehicles from leases to 200,000 mile beaters.

what all should i look for in a g? i already know i want a 6 speed coupe, but anything else you guys can recommend would really help he is going to call me tomorrow night to get the rest of the details.

thanks again
dream.

Hey, I have been looking around, too. $18K for an '05 is not too bad, especially if it loaded up with the sport, premium, and aero packages. The miles are a little high, though. There are a lot of these cars coming off of leases. The nice thing is, they are usually one owner and they tend to keep the miles down so they wont get nailed when they turn it in at the end of the lease. The '06's are coming off now from the 36-39 month leases. They are just starting to hit the auctions.

i think 23,000 is a little high. i was thinking about offering 17,500. do you think that is too much of a low ball?

$17k sounds about right for a 2005 coupe..

Check KBB for pricing.. You should be paying less than private party due to our economy..

I would offer 18k for it. They wont accept though, I know because they didnt accept my offer. I saw that car too. Too many dealers are out of the loop nowadays. You should be paying under blue book, but they dont understand.

about to trade my 05 6MT

I'm about to trade or sell my loaded 05 6MT coupe (74k miles). I'm inches from trading right now because the offers on 08 G37 are so good.

PM me if you're interested, I'm flexible on pricing. laser red, well cared for; has nav, prem pkg, sport suspension, aero pkg, sunroof, XM radio and 19" wheels. 6-speed manual transmission. Great car, I will miss it.
