Can we all just answer the question on how long the tranny, drive train, and engine can last?

It seems like we have this age discussion every week.

My 03 is at 157,000 and still running strong. Idle is a bit rough but other than that, everything is still running smooth. It's all depends on proper maintenance I'd say.

I had an 08 civic and I'm with USAA and I switched to a G35 coupe and my insurance is like $200 less a year. Surprised my mom.

I got the coupe on my 17th birthday btw

I was told by A Nissan mechanic that Nissan builds engines and transmissions that out last the body of the car, if maintained properly of course

<--- 17. Had a turbo integra for 7 months then upgraded to a g35. As long as you know how to drive it and can control yourself a g is a great car for a teen. Parts are very expensive on it so dont wreck or scratch it :] A g is fast but its no corvette, its still stable and has great handleing. Id say go for it if you find a good priced one. I got mine for 9000, 48k miles, rebuilt title.

Try to find one with less miles. I dont know how long your planning on keeping the car but 100k is a bit much. Try to find one w/ less than or around 30K? I have about 24K now and my car still looks new. But at 100k you would need to change out all fluids. You will end up replacing the clutch or tranny soon. Might have other minor failures; windows motors or lights, etc.

Well the G is my second car and I had it since I was 17 (I'm almost 20 now)...

I bought mine with 52k and is at 85k now with no major problems *knock on wood* Just the problems everyone seems to have like the window motor recalibration and the head unit being possessed (warranty FTW)

I'd say go for it, what the hell. By the end of the summertime I will have the G paid off and am only paying $142/mo for insurance. It's completely doable, then again I'm in college too so choosing to have a car bill at this time is just a matter of whether or not you think having a G is worth having a tight budget while you have the loan for it.

If you are scared about not having tons of money to spend, just buy a beater and get a nice yamaha raptor or something to fvck with lol

i bought mine with 15k on the clock now i have 81k, tranni took a **** at 48k "3rd gear synchro ate it self" says the infiniti tech replaced under warr. other than that the only issues ive had are 1 window motor is doing the famous manual up only, and my damn bose H/U is giving me error and wont play my CD's or give them back for that matter.

so maintaining the G in the KEY lol im a poet and didnt know it.

I got my 2004 G coupe when I was 16 (almost 17) it had 40k and it was 15k to buy, my insurance isn't too horrible, I pay about 200 a month for the car payment (after an 8,000) downpayment of my money and roughly 160 a month for insurance, I agree with some people though, shoot for an 05 at the very least because the trannys in the 03s and 04s suck...which is why my 6mt is at the dealer hopefully getting a new tranny. good luck finding one, they're amazing cars
