Thoughts on the price I paid...

I got an '07 G35 Coupe 3 weeks ago. Silver, automatic, 19" wheels, spoiler, XM and bluetooth. Came with 23.5k miles.
I paid $21,500 out the door. This was from a small car dealer, not directly from Infiniti. I had it checked out by a Nissan dealer before I got it and the tires and brakes both have about 50% of the life left. Everything else checked out perfectly fine. The only problem is that it was in an accident where the airbag was deployed. The only thing that needed replacing was the driver's side quarter-panel, and the title is still clean. The warranty is still active...
Thoughts?

Really good price. But someone lied to you. There is no way the only thing that was damaged was the quarter panel and the airbag deployed.

I'm in agreement with you. It did get a thorough inspection by the dealer though, as well as my own nooby visual inspection, and nothing turned up. I've logged over 2k miles on it in the past 3 weeks and everything seems to be running well. So if the car drives well, the title is clean, and neither the dealer nor myself can find anything wrong with it, I see no reason why I'd have trouble offloading it in 3 or 4 years... which is all I'm concerned about. I don't want to take too big of a depreciation hit when I look to sell it.

I went to high school in Spring Valley! Which dealer did you buy it from?

1.) I would never buy a car that was in an accident yet alone having one of its airbags being previously deployed.

2.) As someone has already mentioned here, air bag deployment due to a frontal collision is significant. How could the damage be just limited to a quarter panel impact?

3.) Another thing that scares me is that the vehicle still has a clean title after the airbags have been deployed. I just don't get it. That means no police report no nothing. All the information that you could possibly obtain is what has been told you from someone who is trying to sell you the car. Thus, more than likely invalid. You get my drift?

@ G-Ride: sorry, should have mentioned. I bought it in OH and drove it back to NY. so it's not a dealer you'd know.

@perfect:
1) trust me, i was hesitant about that. but i had it fully inspected and everything checked out so i went along with it.
2) the damage wasn't limited to the quarter panel - that's just the only thing that was replaced. from what i gather, the guy went off the road and swiped a tree with the front drivers side of the car. the dents were fixed and the quarter panel replaced.
3) the title is clean because the damage was relatively minor. the airbags deploying doesn't = salvage/rebuilt title. and the police report shows up on carfax saying what i said in point 2.
the car was a two year lease - the driver got into that accident six months in, had it fixed, drove it for another year and a half, then it went back to Nissan/Infiniti USA where this dealer picked it up from.

Remember the old saying about "if its too good to be true..." yadda yadda? Its cool you had it fully inspected, but you had it fully inspected by the place that was selling you the car right? Kinda like sleepin with the enemy dont ya think? Also, did you happen to check out one of the featured threads in this forum? About carfax being kinda shady and autocheck being the way to go? Just some stuff I would have considered before forkin over the cabbage.

Not trying to naysay, im glad it seems like its solid so far. You may have found a diamond in the rough. GL!
