Does this sound like a good deal?

2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe with 45k miles, one owner. Clean Carfax. Auto. For 18,490.

Also my other question, Is getting the G35 in auto worth it?

Ha, I know I should get it in manual but I'm not sure how well or fast I can learn to drive it.

I see you're in Mass. That's a whole different market, but if we take CA for example: you can generally knock the price down 2K ($16,490). Recently, that's what people have been getting for 05s around that mileage in the "Used Car" thread.

Also, please do take a mechanic to check that car out. Apparently, one of my friends bought a coupe this past month - clean title, 2005, and somehow ended up with most of the car has been repainted.

Good luck on Bargaining!

Get a quote from the dealer on trade in and then look into selling it private party. You can always run a feeler on craigslist or somewhere for free and if no one wants it you still got the dealer!

You might be able to get 1000 or so more locally.

Yeah manual you get a better feel for the car. But I drive in the city a lot and I just don't think now is the time to get one.

As for selling my car local, I thought about that but after asking people what they'd pay for my car it wasn't near what I'll be getting for a trade.

dude...... get a manual. you will HATE having an auto. even if you drive in the city 80% of the time, that 20% outside the city is MORE than worth it.

Isn't the auto a manual as well though? So then I can just switch to that, without having to worry about a clutch.

The other thing thats holding me back is that all the 6mt's around me are like 2k more then this car...and my dad checked on the previous driver and he said he was clean with no accidents in the car, only a speeding ticket haha

like everyone else says buy a 6spd unless you are lazy? lol its cool if you are it can be a hassle with a stick depending on where you live and the traffic you deal with on the reg...I say be VERY CAREFUL AND DON"T TRUST ANY DEALERS! lol I just bought my 05 coupe with 34kmi and it was amazing...then 2 months down the road oil light pops on. They told me to come back sooner than 3kmi to monitor the oil consumption. Lets just say I never made it to that check up and the result was catastrophic. Thank god i am under the elite extended protection program so now i got a new motor and she runs amazing and only had to pay i believe like 175 for the new motor and everything else so the plan has already paid for itself. I suggest a warrantied g35 because in this economy everyone needs reliability. I mean this car is an 05 only had 34kmi and the engine blew on me so be careful no matter how low the mileage or new the year, it seems like everything is a gamble. Just do your research get a mechanic and a car fax and don't jump at the first one you see either. Take your time there are so many gs in the world and lots of other cars you can get for the same price too

The engine didn't blow on you, you blew the engine. Ever heard of checking your oil? Oil Consumption is a known issue for our cars...

Hey Carter, I saw that car for sale. My friend was looking at it but he went with a manual instead.

I have a 2004 G35 DG Coupe with 45K Automatic with 18s and I paid 15500 out the door including tax. That was in april and I bought it in NYC. My front bumper was repainted due to vandalism but thats about it. (Dealer disclosed this before I bought)

Im sure you can knock another 1000 off easy. Those car dealers usually try to own you when you buy with a trade-in. The car dealer was offering me 4000 for my 03 Maxima. I ended up selling it on Craiglist for 5900. If you are not hurting on money, you should definately try to sell your ride locally first if you think you can get more money.

Just my 2 cents.

Btw, my buddy was negotiating with the dealer on this car.

He was able to knock 1500 dollars off over the internet without ever coming in. If you are going to pay 18490 for that silver one, I suggest you get this one. lower miles with navi Its auto though.
