Another good deal thread
http://www.infinitiofgwinnett.com/us...eHistory=true#
2004 Coupe AT with rims, exhaust, smoked tails, and who knows what under the engine at 40,051. I'm not sure if I'm exactly up for paying 19k for a car that was made in 2004, so what kind of offer do you guys think I should go for?

But did you notice it had leather! Oh wait, they all had leather in 2004.
Price isn't too bad, but I'd try to knock another $1500-$2000 off. You are getting some decent wheels and the tires are Toyo's, but I can't tell which model. Another plus is the car appears to have lived it's life entirely in the state of Georgia, so it probably never saw snow or long term cold weather.
But, it's definitely not a gotta-have-it-now kind of deal. There are 2005 Coupes out there with similar miles for about the same money. You'll get a better interior and better brakes than on a 2004.

I thought cloth was only available in 2003, but I could be wrong. I just did an Autotrader search for 2005 5AT Coupes and there were lots that were less than 20K. Umm, isn't 18-19 OTD less than 20?

Edit: Scratch that 19, 17-18k OTD seem good? That should be about 16-17k for the car itself give or take. I'm still trying to get a feel for what the G is worth, since prices went up lately I just don't even know anymore.
Can you tell me why so I'd know for my future searches?

you can find 05s and possibly 06s for that price range w/ the same miles, and they have upgraded interior/brakes (06's have upgraded headlights/taillights) but if it's what you like, you should get it and not let other people tell you otherwise

I think I might just stick with this car, but go as low as I can so I would have money for other things (sure i'll catch the mod bug). Should I try to offer the trade in value of the car? (which is about 16,000 at exellent condition). About 17500 OTD if not just a little bit lower. Does that seem about right?
P.S. Thank you guys for your input and advice.

The 18-19 I was referring to the 04 car I originally posted. Also, were those 05's that you found with the sport package and coupes? I can find plentiful 05's that are base/premium or sedans, but the sport package and coupe is a big thing for me.

If I were you, I'd pass on this car and look for an 05+. The upgraded interior and better brakes are definitely worth it. The 03-04 brakes work very well, but create a large amount of brake dust and the rotors wear out pretty quickly. The 05+ performs equally well (G35's have excellent brakes no matter what year), but they have a larger rotor and a less dusty pad. If you do want this one, then I'd seriously lowball them and offer something like $17K out the door. You don't know what the actual trade-in value was, which could have been much lower than $16K.
Plus, an 05 might have some factory bumper-to-bumper warranty remaining. That 04 definitely does not.

Well I'm a young fellow, so the niceties of a car isn't that important to much as much as how, lets say, "cool" the car is. So the better interior isn't that much of a priority of mine, especially if I get to be saving a good few grand. The brakes I'll have to work around, but I think this car will be great for me since I'm a young guy and all.
Thanks guys for the advice, and I'll definitally try to lowball them as much as possible. Gotta keep those stealerships at bay.

I bought my 2009 FX35 from this dealership. Ask for Dennis Epps. Tell him John Baby referred you. He is a nice guy and will try to get you the best deal.

Quite.
So I've found another car.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
Gray 2006 Coupe, fully loaded and appears to be in exellent condition and it is a private owner. I know the owner is asking waaay too much for the car, I'm just wondering what I should offer for the car.
Nadaguides says trade in value is at 18.9 for clean and KBB has private owner at 21 for exellent, and 19.9 for good. How do you guys feel? I was thinking of offering about maybe 19.5 and see how that goes from there, or should I go lower? I'm not trying to lowball this guy since I kind of do need a car as soon as I can. I don't mind if it isn't the best deal in the world, although that would be nice, but I don't want to get gipped either. I just want to know what would be a decent or average price for the car, and what would be the most I should even consider to pay for this car?

That car looks pretty clean! Just check on the tires. They will be expensive to replace.
Offer 18,900 and work your way to a middle ground. What is the most you're willing/comfortable to pay? Do you have the cash or financing lined up already? Let them you have everything in order and the that people that come to check out the car may just be tire kickers.
You can see how he/she reacts to your initial offer and gauge their limits. If this is a second car for the seller they may not be in a rush to sell. Or they maybe tight for the money. You just have to hustle them a little.

Hmmm ... seems a little high to me. There are other Coupes in that part of the country with fewer miles for the same or less money. sTeadFast, find out what it's in-service date was. If it still has some of the bumper-to-bumper left, it's worth a little more to you. If it still has some b2b left, offer him $19K, if not, offer $18.5K. And don't go above $500 more than that if those offers aren't enough for him. Like I said, there are other Coupes out there.
