Looking for a G35 Coupe - New York Metro
Looking around for a clean 04-05 G35 Coupe in the NYC area that has some miles and is less than $14k...
What are the major problems for this car with an AT?
1. Tranny durability is ? for the AT?
2. Brembo Brakes last? Or do they just eat rotors/pads?
3. ....?
Thanks, searching autotrader. Other good resources? Any sound board members I can see a ride near NYC?
Thx

Tranny will be great up to 380 whp. A decent shifter **** weighted would be recommended as our cars shifter tends to shake at higher speeds. Brembos are awesome I recommend a set to everyone. Rotors/ pads and depend on the driver. Cross drilled / slotted will always disapate heat much better. The window motors I've found kind of suck. I had to replace both driver and passenger sides. The seats tend to wear permaturely on the driver side right by the adjustable plastic piece by the door. I personally love my car and its been the best vehicle I've ever owned. My opinion of course. Hope this helps..

I don't know much as to what the G35 can handle performance wise since I just bought my car last summer. I am from NY as well. I used autotrader, cars.com, and ebay to do searches for the local area. If you're planning on paying the full amount of the car, I would also suggest craigslist since private sellers are willing to budge a little bit more than the stealerships. With that said, I ended up buying my 04 G35 AT from a Jeep/Chrysler Dealership for $18,500 with 35500miles. I thought it was a pretty good deal since it was fully loaded with the 18s, navigation, and the ivory pearl/black interior combo, which is hard to come around. I got the car for cheap because the front two wheels had heavy curb rash and one of the rear wheels had that paint fading issue the 18inch wheels have. I explained to the salesman that it would cost me nearly $1000 to fix it. I honestly didn't care about the wheels since I was going to add 20" wheels regardless. It was a great flaw though to bargain with the guy with. I definitely would look at a few places before you pull the trigger. It took me almost two months before I found the right one at a good price. I regret a little bit that I didn't get the 05 since the seats are powered all ways and the steering wheel is powered tilt/telescope. I am still happy with my purchase though. Keep us posted on your search.
