So I work at a large used car dealer and I have the option to purchase cars at auction. Im going to pull the trigger on a g35 soon. Question for you guys with alot of experience is this. What is the maximum mileage you'd accept on a used G35? I mean I work on all kinds of cars everyday so the maintenance and everything wouldn't be an issue but I dont really wanna buy a G35 that could potentially be in its "problem zone"..Basically meaning that I dont know if G35s have a certain mileage they reach that all the problems just start..Any help would be great...Thanks in advance

You haven't said what year you're looking at, coupe or sedan.

The old adage that younger and lower miles is usually better prevails for most cars.

The earlier models, 03-06 had some issues with front suspension - compression rod bushing failure. Some of the earlier cars ~03ish had problems with the stereo head unit.

There was also an issue with the REVUP engines in 05-06 coupes only (?) having oil consumption problems (someone else can chime in with more detail here).

But otherwise they're pretty reliable.
i assume that at an auction you'll have limited ability to check the car out. I'm not sure if Infiniti can give you history based on the VIN number.

If you're going newer then Infiniti's 4yr 50kmile B-to-B warranty is worth considering as is their 70k 6yr power train warranty.

My '05 X sedan has had both compression rods done under warranty and both front wheel bearings under the power train warranty.

It'd be nice to know what these cars fetch at auction so we have a better idea of what the dealers mark 'em up by.

Good luck

the sedan and coupe debate is still up in the air..I love four doors but really like the coupe. I have a couple built 240s so i have my fix for rwd. I haven't decided yet to be honest. Right now I can get an 04 coupe 6mt with around 60-70k miles for 10k. That includes the transport fee and all auction fees. Im looking to be spending around 12k when all said and done with taxes and tags.

I can get pretty much any car...Right now I'm looking at 43 G35 coupes for under 15k....I have access to every auction in the country...

If anyone needs any help lemme know...

Thanks
Chris
