Need some help on whether or not to buy this G35!
Some background: I am 22 years old, I drove a 2000 Honda Civic from 2005-2010. Great reliable car but pretty "meh". It was recently totaled. I want something I'm going to love driving, and a G35 is at the top of my list.
The car I looked at is a 2006 G35 Coupe. It's black, rear spoiler, has navi, manual transmission, and has 93,000 miles on it. I like the exterior, but when I sat in the car the interior was a bit disappointing. The leather seats were pretty worn out, cracked, small tears, and didn't look very upkept. The car didn't really have that nice "leather smell" that some of the other G35's I checked out had.
The price is $13,595. I want a nice interior to my car, but the price is the lowest I could find for any G35, let alone a 2006, and my budget probably can't exceed $16,000-$17,000. The carfax came back clean, no accidents or anything and according to the report it is worth $-450 from the book price.
1. Should I take the deal?
2. Do you think the 93,000 miles is a concern?
3. If I take the deal, how can I tune up my leather interior and make it look close to new and pretty sharp looking/fresh?
THANK YOU!!!!

As a recent Infiniti buyer (I bought a 2004 G35 in July 2010)...I would definitely be concerned about the mileage? I think that's too high for a 2006? My 2004 had 49,000 (low mileage) but also was in MINT condition (inside and out). There were no cracks and actually everyone that has looked at it, thought it was brand new. It was detailed (professional) by the dealer and that was before I bought it, so that helped. As far as cracks in the leather, I don't know what you could do for that (I had a 1999 Nissan Altima that was the car before it, and the leather in that...no cracks and it still smelled good--like leather interiors should). I hope this helps and I LOVE MY NEW (USED) CAR, IT FEELS like a new car it shines (black) and I have two details that I can use thru the dealer and he will keep my car in good shape (looking very shiny too--the black helps)?
If a coupe is what you want, and your price range tops out at $17K, I'd say look at an 04 or 05 with less mileage and better-maintained interior. If the owner didn't care enough to keep the interior nice, I'd be afraid to think what may have gone on with the rest of the car.
Thanks for the replies guys. This is actually a good few days old but it took a bit for the mods to allow it to be posted. I have found out some horrible stuff about the car. The carfax checked out, but carfax is terrible. Autocheck indicated UNIBODY FRAME DAMAGE! This dealership is incredibly shady, they apparently buy accident cars at auctions and fix them and resell for cheap, but driving around in a smashed frame is so dangerous I can't believe they get away with it. The reviews for the dealership are terrible, too. I had a huge PASS on this car.
I actually found a beautiful, incredibly well kept G35 from 2004. Only 45k miles, ivory white, immaculate interior, garage kept, navigation, and the owner added a 350z cold air intake for some extra power. He took amazing care of the car. The G cost me 17.5k, a little high for me but the car impressed me so much that I had to buy it.
I appreciate all the help. Thank you so much.

The car isn't "officially" mine yet, but I put down a deposit and we've agreed to terms. I should be taking it home this week. Here's some pics that the seller took:

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the way it looks in the front either. I'm going to take it to the closest Infiniti dealer and have them put the Infiniti badge back on the grill. That'll make it look much better, IMO. Any other suggestions?
thanks for the suggestions. not sure if he still has the original grills or not, i'll have to ask..if he doesn't, how much do you think buying the stock grills would cost?
