Considering this 07' G35 on Carmax

Heres the link: http://www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/...8-7b103aaf4812

What are your opinions on this car? The owner history seems strange, it just seems off to me. I am also willing to bet this car has oil consumption issues, thats the main thing that worries me. Looks like it would be covered under the inifiniti warranty for powertrain though, i believe its 60,000/7 years whichever is first. So I should be good on that for at least 3 years or so.

I've been reading the oil consumption issue TSB and it appears inifiniti or Nissan has updated the TSB to include the short block now?

If in fact this car does have the oil consumption issue has infiniti been known to fix the problem without further problems down the road or is it an ongoing thing?

All opinions/advice are welcome on this car, even if its not oil consumption related. I just want info to aid in my purchase and what to look out for so that I am aware of what to expect. I've always loved the G and am looking to sell my 08 TL auto and get back into a manual.

Oh yea, what about snow? any problems with decent winter tires?

insanely expensive, you can get a G37 with litte more miles and have better car. But that's my opinion.

Buy a 2008 G35S 6mt Manual transmission. It has the HR motor which is much stronger, responds to mods better, can handle higher power and does not have OC issues compared to Rev-up series. Between 07 and 08 they made some changes to fix issues with 07 models. Research heavily and take your time with your decision. You have a very good car right now that is reliable and you know the history behind it. Don't jump into a new vehicle due to emotional reasons. If I was planning on getting a vehicle it would be a 08 G35S 6mt but never from Carmax. I can always always negotiate better price from local dealers and have a mechanic inspection to reveal what work needs to be done and then negotiate even further.
