New Member - looking at 2008 G35x

Hey everyone,

I've narrowed my search for a car down to the 2008 G35x and would prefer the sport package with prem and nav.

In my search (MD, DC, VA area) I have notice only a few CPO compared to used.

What are everyone's thoughts on CPO vs Used (with the Elite warranty for used car)? Is there a major difference in CPO warranty vs Elite warranty?

I guess I wanted CPO for peace of mind, but there are so many more vehicles to choose from just going the used route.

I appreciate any feedback.

Then you want a g35XS - they are pretty hard to find but are around. You are going to pay more for a CPO for sure. You can get an elite warranty, but if you have no records, and they blame the reason why something broke due to improper service or negligence, how you gonna refute it? That's the risk I would think. I did not get mine CPO, and yeah I did have some issues that cost me around 400 bucks to fix.

Thanks for the advice rvanderwerf. I spoke with a dealer during a test drive and he said the price difference for a similarly equipped CPO vs used G35 was about $1500-2000. Also, what if I purchase from an Infiniti dealer and add the elite warranty right before the original warranty runs out? Would the original warranty cover anything they say I need to fix for the elite warranty?

I feel like I could find a used G35xS with just about all my preferences now, but who knows when a CPO will come on the market.

Is your elite warranty pretty much the same coverage as the CPO warranty?

I'm still on factory bumper to bumper till feb. I haven't purchased a elite warranty yet, but it costs about what the price different you were quoted (At least from Infiniti of Scottsdale via internet), depending on length, deductible, and mileage options. I do know the elite is pretty comprehensive, but specifically doesn't cover wearable items, and rattles and squeeks. I don't know much about the CPO warranty to be honest.

Good to know. I guess I would catch what is left of the 4 year bumper to bumper as well as a few years of the powertrain.
