Infiniti 03 Sedan Suggestions!

I was thinking to buy an Infinity G35 2003 Sedan with a clean title and 116k miles for $6500 cash. I was wondering if this is a good deal or not? I am going to check the car this weekend. Is there any thing specific that I need to be concerned about or something that I need to ask to the seller? Since, its my first Infinity, how much mpg do you get and how expensive is it to maintain it? Say like, filters, belts and stuff?

Please let me know.

Thank You

I would pay 6500 for one with 116k if it was kept fairly well.

Look out for the normal things that you would on any used car. And also check and see if the compression rods have been done. If it burns any oil, headunit has any glitches, window motors, that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

And filters and belts aren't that bad. There are a few parts that catch a pretty penny compared to other makes and models but you aren't buying a domestic car either...

How is the resale value of the car?
KBB shows 8.5k for this car so if I drive it for a year with 9k miles, then can I still get a good resale value?
My friends were just scaring me saying that it consumes a lot of gas and its maintenance is very expensive.

that's a great deal if the body and engine are in good condition. i picked up my 03 sedan for $7.3k with ~140k miles, for comparison. take the car to a mechanic you trust and get everything checked out!

Ask for a Maint. report against the VIn # any Dealer can do it.
Oil- look for water = water pump.
Trans did not come with a dipstick, if it has one the trans has been replaced.
Radiator = cracks around the filler and core seams.
CD player works, no fault codes.
Lower control arm bushing are not pushed out.
Good Luck!

And these cars do not get great gas mileage, plenty of threads on that.

I agree have someone check the car out and also pay attention to the valve covers, transmission fluid color. Mine have 187K on it and and still running fine, need some minor repairs but nothing serious. Spoke with a dealer the other day who says that they serviced an G with over 350K on it and it was still running good. Good Luck
Oh yeah use high mileage oil that helps ( me at least)
