Question Really need help on G with 6MT (motor oil consumption)

Hi, I’m considering to buy a 05 or 06 G coupe with 6MT, but the only problem i scare is the motor oil consumption.

do u guys know how to distinguish the motor is consumption more oil than usual? (Method: measures the engine oil by monthly only?)

is any easy measure method to distinguish it?

An addition, how to distinguish the manual transmissions (clutch, flywheel ect) is in a good condition?

I’m dump about auto. Nvm
Thank you for the comments. Appreciate.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I'm looking for a 2005-2006 because the power numbers look better on paper. Also, I like the refresh they did to the inside and outside in 2005. If it burns a quart every 1,000, I'm not concerned. What does that break down to? Maybe $150/yr to top it off?

Seems like I can pick one up anywhere that is under 100,000 miles for about $13,500 put the door, but is that appropriate? Is my assessment correct? Anything under 12,500 a really good deal?

This is all speaking very generally of course.

test drive the car. see if white smoke comes out of the exhaust, over heating, and engine noises

The only way to tell if it consumes oil is to make periodic checks to the oil.
My car just went in for the OC issue this weekend.
Glendale Infiniti is replacing the short block.
It was consuming about a qt every 1000 miles.
I didn't have any white smoke.
There was an engine rattle but only when the oil was super low, like 3.5 qts and I still had 1000 miles before my next oil change.

Earlier models are plagued with oil consumption too. Its really hit or miss.

try and find 05-06 that already has had the oil consumption issue dealt with. i was lookin for an 03 04 but when i found my 05 i checked records and found that the motor had been replaced for this issue. bought the car and checked oil ever since and no consumption issues at all. i love it

also, FYI:

05 & 06 have oil consumption issues.. 03 & 04 have basic maint issues with the window motors and power locks but already took care of those on this G. if u really want to go issue less than go w/ a g37 but the g35 styling is better without the spoiler.

Mileage is relative to the fact that u could have someone race the shiet out of a G with low mileage compared to an elderly driver taking a G on highway cruises but then again u never know unless you know the previous owner.

let me know if ur interested and will send pics.
nice car, but i really care about the mileage. thx anyway.
