was taking a look at this ad...

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/3236879924.html

the owner/yard claims that the car only needs front and rear bumpers and tail lights which im sure i can scoop up for cheap on this forum, the question is-- is it worth it. i currently own a 07 tsx, and this car is simly going to be a project car and a maybe a track toy. i might sell ths tsx and make this a primary and have my hooptie on the side incase it breaks down.

with that being said i dont care about resale value, i just want to make sure that im getting a good deal on this, ive seen some g35's go for above 10k with this ammount of miliage. kbb ranges from 8500-10000 on this car .

with that being said, whats your input ?

I think its awesome if you have the means to fix it.

That being said I would be cautious as its bound to have some glossed over issues.. but you never know

I don't mean that kind of issue, more serious stuff like rats in the wiring, flood damage, etc. But you never know lots of people are afraid of wrecked cars, great opportunity to pick one up for a steal. Go check it out and let us know what you find!

im def trying to check it out later on this week, just hoping my body shop friend can come out during the same time. im praying theres no electrical or frame damage. but what worries me is that since its salvage and it SUPPOSEDLY "runs" how can i test drive it since theres no dealer plates, i just hope that they have a big enough yard for me to go around in circles lol.

Fire it up and drive around the lot, just make sure it goes into all gears cleanly, check the oil, most people outside the forums don't know about the OC issues so they don't even think to check the oil.. If its really low you might have a burner

Everyone has said the same thing I am thinking also check car fax. Car fax was the determining factor about 5 years ago when I did a 2.5L swap into my 318i. The engine block had the vin# so I checked it with carfax and It had been serviced religiously by the dealership at every interval.
