Hey everyone - thanks for helping each other out. I'm new to this forum but I would like to buy my first G35. I found the aforementioned coupe in a used Ford dealer lot. A sales guy approached me and is trying to get me to buy the car "by the end of the month" and assures me a deal. But I'm wondering how much cushion they put in their asking price.

They are asking $18k (site shows "price $19k w/ $1k discount" ha!)
KBB is $18k while Edmunds TMV is $12k (wtf?)

The car appears clean but I need to spend some quality time with it to see if it's definitely the one I'd want to buy. Anyway, the overall question was what kind of offer I might be able to get away with, if the guy really is motivated to meet his quota.

Also, no navigation.

I would not pay anymore than 15-16k..Make sure to check condition of tires and brakes sounds petty but new tires and brakes for the g are pricy given you have the brembos..Looking at around 2k to replace tires and brakes..just a heads up. My 2centsGood luck

That's some serious sauce! The ad lists new brakes...

This is wacky. I remember noticing the tires were Hankook when I stopped in yesterday, but the online ad is showing a Goodyear tire. Huh...

I paid 18k for mine with about 55k miles on it, same 2005 black 6MT coupe. But that was in 2009... so yeah you're getting a low mileage car but I wouldn't pay 18 for it.

I would ask the dealer if the engine's been replaced for the oil consumption TSB (chances are no) and when he looks at you completely bewildered because he doesn't know anything about it offer him 15k and meet somewhere in the middle. If the engine has been replaced (and call a dealer with the VIN for verification) then it's all good. Still try and get him down though.
