2007 G35x - 90K Miles - Good or Bad?
2007 G35x - 90K Miles - Good or Bad?
I'm looking at a 2007 G35x 90K miles priced at around 14K sans tax and doc fee - Edmunds appraises it at 12.5K.
It is loaded with AWD, Navigation, keyless start, etc - but is the mileage too high?
It also has a dealer 1 year warranty - but I'm not sure if the dealer will actually fix everything that goes wrong or say it's not "covered".
The alternative is a 2006 G35x with 72K miles for 14K OBO no tax.
Both cars also seem to be 2 owner cars - I will be taking them to a trusted mechanic for sure, of course.
Can anybody tell me if the 2007 is worth purchasing, and if so, how much I could take off the sticker.

To me, I'd say 90k is a tad high. But it seems to be nicely optioned. One thing you have to consider is that the 07's and 06's are completely different. I believe that the 07 has the newer HR engine (as opposed to the DE engine in the 03-06 models). In addition to that you get the complete interior and exterior redesign.
What kind of dealer is it? If it's one of those used car dealers, I wouldn't bite on their warranty. If it's a new car dealer, they might be a bit less shady, but be very careful and read the fine print on the warranty policy.
If you ask me, I'd say ditch this one and continue searching for one with lower miles. If you have to have this one, see if you can get it for under 14k out the door (that's including all taxes and fees), maybe even 13k.

Depending on if you are staying bone stock or modding, the 2006 is still eligible for Infiniti elite protection, which is the warranty you want if you lean toward those things and you're staying stock. Up until 75K miles, you can get up to 4 years and 48K mileage stem to stern pretty much everything. You may have to pay inspection fee to get it unless you can show full maintenance on mfr schedule, either dealer database or independent shop receipts. The plans can be bought online at steep discount from what your local dealer would quote. Google it. There's one in Phoenix and another in New Jersey that do volume plan sales, and I'm sure others. Good luck with your decision.
What would you guys say about a G35x 2007 AWD w/ 75K mile? Clean title, very reputable dealership.
The going price is 15.5k before tax and doc fees - they said they won't go lower, but that was over email.
