Advice on buying this g35 coupe please

Ok so its a 2005 black on black auto g35 coupe with about 102,000 miles and fully loaded with every feature. The only thing that doesn't work is the gps. (He said it automatically goes down every time you turn it on.) I think the cd/stereo is separate from that right?

Anyway he's asking 8,000 which I think is reasonable and the auto check report looks pretty good. The car was in an accident at 30k miles with the first owner but no frame or engine damage reported. The car was then driven 70,000 miles so I'm assuming that the cars fine as long as I can get it looked at.

The thing is that I'm driving about 3 and a half hours to get the car so I'm hoping to look at it and get it inspected all in one shot and hopefully buy it. The problem is that the seller insists that he will not take the car anywhere to get it inspected because it is "a waste of time" and that I have to bring someone to get it inspected. Should I ask a mechanic or do those online inspection things work?(like http://www.aimmobileinspections.com)

Thanks

Tbh it's too sketchy for me. The last pic is a stock photo.

How do I know that?

Automatics only have the ebrake activated by foot leg actuation. No hand ebrake.

Plus he won't let you get it inspected by an independent shop of your choice?

The people I bought the car from didn't have an issue with me doing so. Only thing the car needed was a diff flush to get the service

Don't know about the other questions but if the guy is serious about selling than he would have no problem taking it for a check up unless your trying to get him to pay for it. Tell him you will pay for it, call around his area & have him take it to a shop you pick. As far as most those online car inspections go they don't really do any real engine checks. As far as I know they test drive & look for body damage, very rarely will you find any that will do serious checks of the engine or even under body. My advice is if the guy doesn't want to take it to get checked up at a place you pick around his area after you offer to pay for it, don't waste your own time anymore on it.

yea i noticed the handbrake thats not usually in the automatics but I thought maybe its just for the 2005 model and on or something. I guess it seems shady that he would do that but he did mention a seat tear in the driver's seat which isn't in the picture of the driver's seat. Either way it seems sketchy. But what if i get it inspected by a mechanic at this guy's house and it checks out?

Your driving 4 hours for this. I don't go 4 hours out of my way to get my favorite milk so it's totally up to you. I think without his okay to get it checked it isn't worth it.

Something is up if you can't get it checked out at a shop. He is hiding something if he wants a mech to come and "look" at it. Don't rush... just wait for the right car. This doesn't seem like the right one for you.

Yes and no. Just because he refuses to get it inspected himself means nothing. Anyone that has ever sold a vehicle on Craigslist knows you get flooded with BS buyers. For every 25 people that email you, only one is serious. I wouldn't do anything either that would cost me money either because more than likely the buyer is going to flake anyways.

If seller is willing to let you take it to get inspected, he isnt trying to hide anything, he just doesnt want to waste his time/money.

If you are the seller and the buyer is willing to pay for it, I'd do it. Why? Because if you don't buy it, the seller now have a mechanic's inspection report for any other buyers to see that was done for free.

My last car was a stick and the G35 is fun too but for everyday driving, I'm glad my G is an auto. A free hand while driving can prove to be useful.
