New member here, nice to meet you all.

I'm actually potentially trading my 2007 Acura TSX 6spd for this with cash on top of his end. My TSX has almost 200k KM but has winter tires and rims, all maintenance done before the required 200k KM mark, new brakes, new windshield, new tires, etc. My TSX is worth about $9000 here in Calgary, wanting about $1500 cash on top of his G35. I need to buy another set of rims too for winter, but that won't be until late October. The cash will be a good buffer in case anything goes wrong, although he says it doesn't have major mechanical issues.

He says it does have that typical ticking noise from the passenger's side from the engine (increases with revs), although I looked into this forum and people are saying it's common and relatively "normal".

What do you guys think? I might go look at it tomorrow evening and him for my TSX.

Unless it's injector tick, I've never heard of this 'typical tick.'

This was his exact explanation:

"Yea google/YouTube g35 ticking noise .
Noise comes from the passenger side of the engine. Increases as you rev higher. My mechanic said it was sticky lifters and it's not worth it to open the engine up to lube them"

And said it was not worth to fix. Thoughts?

I have an 04 with 117k and it ticks at idle. I don't worry about it because the VQ is a noisy motor anyway.

Now if its a bad tick like rod knock then stay faaar away

That's a tough one. You are rolling the dice on this one. You could win or lose.

do you love the g35? do you love your tsx?

I got out of my 06 3 series for a 05 g35 6 speed because I used to love the car when it first came out (cousin had one)

I loved the 3 series (always been a bmw guy) but I got bored (328i automatic, fun car, but ive always driven a stick/coupe) and wanted to try something new.

im gonna stick with this car as long as it lasts (since its paid off now) do some mods and such.
