Looking to get a G35

Hey, I'm looking for a G35 to buy and I just need some support with my decision on which one to get. I've done quite a bit of research (about 15 hours in the past 2 weeks).
My budget is $6000 Canadian for an Automatic G35 coupe (Don't bash me on the auto please, trust me if it were up to me I'd get a 6MT in a flash) with a coupe of cars in mind.

Should I go with one of these or should I keep waiting? Not in a huge hurry but I'd like a car by the end of this month. Also on the edge between IS300/Maxima/Altima/TSX/TL (want a tiptronic if I have to stick with auto) but I'd prefer the G35.

Welcome to the G community! Which one you like better? The black one is cheaper. Maybe dew to the higher milage then the other one.

Both seem cheap, unless pricing in Canada is just cheaper overall

The pictures are poor however, and hard to get a handle on the overall condition

Well, you can always get the car fax for both of them and check them out in person and just choose the best one.

A RWD car right before winter?
Honestly, if time isn't a big factor why not save up a little more money for a newer/better conditioned vehicle.
Not trying to steer you away from the G, I love my car and it handled last winter perfectly. Just thinking 6k is a little low after taking insurance and maintenance upkeep into the picture.
Good luck with the decision though, you will love these cars!

What do you guys think? Talked to the owner they made a mistake in the title but he was reluctant to sell this right before winter as well. Also, after doing some research I've come up to the conclusion that the major issues with the car are the brake pads. Is there any other costly maintenance that the G has? I know the gas is expensive and it uses synthetic oil. How much do you guys usually spend per year on maintenance and fixing problems. Just wanted to know so I can prepare myself for whats to come.

Everything on these cars is expensive. Everything.

There are waaay more problems than just brake pads. All the bushings and ball joints are garbage. God forbid a headlight go out; even the bulbs (xenon) are $100 (at autozone), but it would probably be a ballast at twice that price. The tires wear fast and unevenly, the interior falls apart by itself, the plugs are annoying to change, etc. Want an aftermarket stereo? Yer talkin a minimum $600. I'm in it about $900 and I haven't even changed the speakers yet. Need a new headlight? Oh that'll be $1000 for a new set. May find some used for $750. Don't buy this car if you are concerned about repair costs.

BTW, those are prices if you can do the work yourself.

Damn.. thanks for the info. This car isn't going to be driven very often. It's just going to be a weekend car (going to occasionally drive this in the winter in case of emergencies since I don't have a beater and I share another car) that will see at most 10,000 km per year and that might even pushing it. One reason I want to buy the car right before winter is since its usually cheaper since a lot of people don't want to put their cars into storage so they want to get it off their hands quickly.

Oh, if you've got another car and its just gonna be a Sunday driver then it should be fine. As a DD tho it can definitely get expensive.

Haha yea man just Fridays - Sundays for me. How often do you change your tires since I do at most 10,000km (6200 miles) a year.

Well I've replaced the whole suspension to make sure I get the most out of my tires, so with a good treadwear rating I should squeeze out about 40k out of my current set. Got 29k out of my last set, but they were a bit softer. I've heard of as little as 9k tho, but that guy must have had major toe issues. Its kind of Dependant on your roads/driving style/upkeep, but unless you get a camber kit, you'll be wearing the insides regardless.

Well, might be a little different sedan vs coupe due to driving style, but I have Continental ExtremeContact's on my sedan.

153K miles on my car and only on the 3rd set of tires. I got 70K miles out of the last set, and currently at 45K miles with tons of tread left.

Of course with AWD i'm not exactly spinning tires much. Plus my suspension is stock, and bushings are such are still in good shape.

1 oil change after 2 years of driving, did not use premium fuel, and minor rust on wheel wells needs new brakes, and new rear tires. Mechanic said motor isn't running as well either. He lowered it down to 4300
