Tips for Used G35 Purchase

I'm in the market for a 03-07 G35 Coupe AT Silver with Blk interior.

I was hoping someone could point me to the forum or thread that discusses the common problem areas/issues that I should be looking for when purchasing (i.e. electric window issues, trunk release issues, internal rattles, etc..)

Thanks in advance for your help

I'd avoid 03-05, as with most cars, the first years have more issues.
The 06-07 has a better looking interior and the REV-UP motor (05 as well). The main issue with these motors is oil consumption. The vast majority will not experience this but you will know when if it does. As long as you check your fluids regularly and can identify when they drain too fast, you will be good. Some other complaints include; window motors, drivers seat tear, differential bushing, cam sensors, hood brackets... I'm sure others will have more input.
My G is an 05 and in the 35k I've driven since owning, the only part I've had to replace in the front left wheel bearing...and soon hood bracket.
Also, and just my opinion, try to find a different color besides silver...there's too many of them.
Good luck with your purchase!

If you are in the advanced crowd do a pressure test and leak down test on your engine / cooling system. A hundred bucks can save you thousands.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes before I buy, I plan to get a compression test.

However, there is no real way to determine if the engine is consuming oil internally. Obviously, you can check for external oil leaks.

Could check under the manifold or take out the spark plugs and see if any oil is present.
