I have an automatic. I think the G35 has the best automatic transmission I've ever driven or been in. There are times when I wish I got the manual, but I use my car to commute daily, so I don't really miss the clutch. L.A. Traffic sucks!!!

When people ask about the car usually it's about how nice it looks or what kind of car is it. The few people that do ask are going to boo automatics anyway.

I'm never bored in the car. It's just a great car to drive. I like the manumatic mode also. Not as good as a real manual but it's decent.

I got an auto cuz the wife wanted to drive it to and I don't regret it. Plus it's great in traffic and driving around the Bay Area especially San Francisco........

Got the 6MT so my wife CAN'T drive it to do grocery and have it dinged up by carts. She's so jealous and want to get a 6 Series. When I'm not in the Batmobile, it's in the Bat Cave where it should be.

my first 3 cars were manual....I love driving manuals, but I figured I'd switch it up and get a A/T.. I have to agree, there are ups and downs to getting an A/T. I don't miss sitting in stop and go traffic with a stick, but I Do miss having full control over my gears. The MM limits you from higher gears depending on how fast you're going....usually, you'll have to be doing at least 30mph to switch to 3rd, and 4rth gears.

Down shifting to slow down at a light is almost non existant in A/T's or atleast in my car....by the time I'm able to shift it down to 2nd, I'm almost at a full stop.

I'll probably just hold on to my A/T, since I'll be moving to manhattan in about a year, but my next car will definitely be another M/T.

I've driven manuals for most of my life.

I bought the auto and don't regret it one tick. Great tranny, this one.

I agree - I have driven manual for every car before this one (that'd be about 18 years). It took a lot of getting used to the MM mode. I found it very difficult not to alternate the up and down motion when shifting and I would end up going the wrong way. I found it very frustrating in the beginning and the delay in shift was annoying, though Gord's hyperground kit helped my car quite a bit with that.

Now that I have adapted to MM, I use it almost exclusively, unless in stop-and-go traffic or on the phone. After one year of driving, my conclusion is that the auto (on the coupe at least) is fantastic. If I were to do it again, I would still go auto.

I now feel sorry for those with manuals, especially with the reputation they have on these cars. If you really learn the auto MM mode, there is no advantage that the manual holds over the auto. It's that good.

wrong.....6MT will beat you at stop cuz they can rev up......but for 5AT....rev up above 3.5k is impossible......

It was a tough decision, but due to a really bad commute, I decided on the AT. I do miss a manual but AT was the best choice for me.

Like to race? Long, rural roads? Go with manual.

Live in the city? Always in traffic? Stop & go frequently? Go with automatic.

Let me tell you, this has the smoothest automatic ever! It's so smooth like butter.
