Indecisive on buying a 2006 G35 coupe. help

Hello. I have an appointment in 2 days... Oct 2nd with the manager of Infiniti on Vancouver Island but I'm so confused and unsure of if i should buy it or not. I don't know a whole lot about cars but I've loved the G from the first day I layed eyes on it. Test driving it is one thing but I'm not sure if I'll come to regret it in the long run. I've been reading this forum for weeks now and learned quite a bit but there are still so many different answers that confuse me.
I was curious to know if there is any faults that anyone has found other than the sound system or 3rd gear? I'm gonna be spending quite a bit of money so i want to make sure i get good advice from people that know what they're talking about. Basically the questions i want to know which some may already be on this forum some where ... ( but since i'm buying this maybe in a few days i want all the answers and opinions on this thread) understandable??

1. How reliable is the G35 ( coupe ) in all seasons? harshest rain and snow or even maybe just a little rain or snow and what is the recomended tire ... should i switch back to stock rims to prevent the good ones from being damaged? If so, what size rims are the best for snow?

2. Considering how i don't know too much about vehicles... How fast can it go (km/hr) stock and with a decend upgrade ( twin turbo etc.. )

3. How efficient is it on gas? And how much does it cost to fill up full? (canadian currency please)

4. I spend about 8 hours or so a day driving.... is the seats comfortable enough to sit that long?

5. How well and at what speeds can it take sharp turns? (km)

6. Most of all... I'm 22 years old. I love speed, comfort, looks and low maintanace. I basically think I might've left some questions out cause i'm tired and also think these might be dumb questions to some but I don't give a flying *** cause I'm curious and don't want any regrets. Has anyone at any point regreted buying a G35? For whatever reason I don't care.

What are the reasons why I should or should not buy it and what are the reason you bought yours and considered keeping it? other than looks?

Sorry for such a long and maybe dumb thread but right now it's about me so *** off to those who think so.

thanks, Johnny

1. its rear wheel drive.. have fun.. snow tires will help.. as for what type u'll have to wait for guys with snow experience to tell u that or go look at reviews. I wouldnt drive the G in snow tho.

2. stock speed govern is at 156mph.. Stock VQ block is good til 350whp-ish range.. after that you gotta start being careful

3. its a 20 gal tank.. guys are getting anywhere from 14mpg-25mpg here

4. seats are good if your a regular sized guy

5. depends on the turn.. if your asking this question i suggest you not take sharp turns

6. low maintenance & high performance do not go together. if you get this car expect parts to be expensive

go test the car yourself

I don't want to sound harsh or anything but if your second guessing yourself, I don't think you should be making the purchase IMO. It would be a $50K (CAD) plus mistake which would be hard to get over. Worst come to worst, just reschedule the meeting, don't rush into it. I don't see why that would hurt.

no problems in rain or snow (with snow tires). if u plan on driving this car in the snow make sure u throw the price of snow tires into the equation. probably cost u between 1500-2000. my set-up includes:
17x7 rims
225/50/17 -front
225/55/17 -rear

2. Considering how i don't know too much about vehicles... How fast can it go (km/hr) stock and with a decend upgrade ( twin turbo etc.. )

already answered above... in terms of mods, running a search would be good or go visit the FI section of the forum.

granny driving (shifting below 3000) you should get around 11-12 l/100 depending on how much city or hwy. spirited driving anywhere between 14-17l/100. i found my worst miealage during break-in. u'll probably be paying around $80 on an empty tank fill-up. if your looking for an econo-box, your looking at the wrong car.

4. I spend about 8 hours or so a day driving.... is the seats comfortable enough to sit that long?

woah... that's a lot of driving! what do u do? i would say it depends on your weight and physique. if u run a search, you'll find heavier set people complaining of driver discomfort on longer trips due to the seat controls being located on top of the seat towards the right side. i personally haven't had problems with discomfort from the seat but the seatbelt often starts to cut into my neck during long drives. hopefully that was corrected on the '06.

5. How well and at what speeds can it take sharp turns? (km)

i wouldn't even know how to answer that. better than an echo, worse than a porsche... how's that?

6. Most of all... I'm 22 years old. I love speed, comfort, looks and low maintanace. so far i have had more problems on this car than on my wife's mini cooper s (0 problems on hers actually). most of them are nuisances than anything else. ie. bose stereo not playing right, oil leak due to bad gasket, windows not closing properly upon closing the door, and a crazy rattle in my driver's vent. obviously each person will have a different set of problems. overall i feel confident in this car's quality. seems like important mechanical elements are performing as expected.

ps. if u need more canadian oriented answers go look at the canadian section of the forum, there's a lot of great people in their that would be more than willing to answer any q's u may have. good luck on your decision.

i have a customer that was looking at the porsche boxster s and picked up a coupe instead. it's great on handling and very smooth for long trips. just make sure you make a lot of MP3 discs and you're set to go for the 8 hours. any help we have plenty of coupes in inventory well worth the drive to pick one up here. good luck
