What's a good deal for a new 2006 G35 6MT sedan?
What's a good deal for a new 2006 G35 6MT sedan?
MSRP is listed as $31,050 (before destination fee).
Invoice is $28563.
How much over invoice have you all gotten your sedans for?
WHen my brother bought his 2 years ago, the local dealership was totally unwilling to budge below MSRP. However, because the closest car to base they had included Bose, they gave him that option without extra $.
Personally, I think $1k over invoice is a reasonable profit (ie. $29,500).
Any input on how to get the best deal is greatly appreciated. I'm looking to pay cash, do not mind if I have to order it and wait, but definitely want the base 6MT in liquid platinum. I understand there are no incentives ongoing.

i just got a 2005 6mt in las vegas with premium package, aero, free tint for 32,800 invoice was 32,100, msrp was 35,140.
don't settle for the first offer they throw at you, be stubborn. get your facts straight, go to msn.com and get the invoice price on the model you want with the options that you want, and make sure the dealer knows you know the invoice price of the car. some dealers will show you the invoice (mine did). if you're paying cash you'll get a better deal. definitely don't pay more than 1000 over invoice. when you go to the dealer after you find out the invoice of the exact car you want, make him an offer of 500 over invoice and tell him you're paying cash and i doubt they will object (you can offer less and "let" them work you higher). the key is to not give in until the offer is what you want it to be. and be sure to milk them for some free tint and oil changes and little stuff.

Since you are looking for a specific 06 base 6mt in a certain color, it's going to be hard to find that exact car. When you do find it, it's going to be hard to negotiate the price down since you are picky. That's the problem I had when I was shopping for my 05 base 6mt in DG and Graphite interior. That exact car was hard to find even though there was four dealers in the area. One dealer found a close match but it had sat. radio and they were charging $500 for shipping. Thus, it was going to cost me $1k extra. Luckily, I found the exact car I wanted right in the area at the end of the $1k incentive month. The dealer gave me a decent price up front ($29k w/ incentive) but I couldn't negotiate it down (wanted no more than $28.5k). Since the car was hard to find and the incentive was about to end, I didn't have any options other than to take the deal. It worked out okay in the end because the car had tint and 2 year free service.
I got my 2005 6mt with premium, nav, aero and trunck mat for in late august for 32949, invoive was 33949. I got it from riverside infiniti from the internet sales guy named Charlie. A good place to look on how much you should pay is edmunds.com, and then start talking to internet sales people, screw regular salespeople. I would go for an 05 and get a good deal over an 06. I got mine 1000 BELOW INVOICE without trying. The guy said that they got to start getting rid of the 05's, also new competition from the 330 and new is350 is helping drop g35 prices. If you are thinking I am lying about my price, I will fax my sales reciept to you if you want.

2005g35sedan6mt that sounds like a pretty good deal especially since you got navigation. You are definitely right the 05s are a great option right now because they are so inexpensive. Now if he really has to have an 06 he is going to pay for it. I doubt they are going to discount the 06s anywhere near invoice until at least early 2006.

So you may be able to get a lower price if you finance, but they'll give you a higher rate (not that you'll ever know) on the financing.

IMO it's a bad idea to pay cash for a new car when finance rates are low. Unless you are filthy rich, it would be better to invest most of that $35k and aggressively pay down the loan. Getting these loans and having debt always helps your credit rating, too.
