17" sedan rims for a winter set-up on a coupe?

Can I use them. If so are there any drawbacks because they aren't stagered?
I did a search in FAQ and DIY but found nothing on point.

Sam, I used 17's for the winter on my Coupe and they were not staggered either. I just averaged the front and rear sizes so as not to go too far astray on sizes and it didn't upset the VDC/ABS at all.

As I remember, the settup I used was recommended by the dealership.

Should work just fine Sam.
Because of the offsets the wheels will be a little deeper in the wheel wells, but not much.

It's always good to go down one size for winters.
The normal tires for the sedan are 215/55-17 which gives you 26.3 diameter.

If you use this size calculator, you can see how the coupe sizes compare.

Thanks Boys,
I'll be going down to the States in July for a wedding and am thinking of picking up a winter set of rubber and bringin em back as declared purchases ( 4 of us will be in the van for 4 days). May have to strap em to the roof.
Thinkin of the M3's if I can get the right sizes.
