Laws in Ontario?

Laws in Ontario?
Does anybody know where I can find laws about tinting, clear turn signals, front license plate, etc. for Ontario?
I've tried looking extensively on Ministry of Transportation Ontario without much luck.
Mainly, I am trying to find out the following:
1. what is darkest legal tint?
2. are white turn signal (bulbs) legal?
3. are front license plates mandatory?
Eventhough it's good to know what is technically legal, I suppose it would be more useful to know how strictly the enfoce these items...
Please feel free to share your experience of either having been ticketed for these things, or have gotten away with them.
cheers =)

Actually,
My buddy's a cop and he'll tell you that while body kits are tolerated (key word here), many fail 5 mph crash test, and as such, can be in fact, illegal. Guys with really ricey kits (no reference intended to the kit you asked about, btw, just in general...) don't normally get hassled, right up til they give the cop some "tude" after being pulled over for something else. Then, as he says: "If someone I've pulled over is polite and respectful, then I'm a happy guy. But if a guy is an ***, If he gives me a whole bunch of "tude", then he's gonna get the "bone". And the bone is: everything they can throw at 'em- exhaust is to loud, neon ground lights are illegal, non- Canadian-spec body bits illegal, tint is too dark... til their writing hand gets cramped.
Two messages here- check into stuff to make sure the specific item you like is okay here in the province, and be very nice to the guy with the ticket pad in his hand ;o)
Cheers,
Derek

Re: Laws in Ontario?
If you want mods on your car, just do it and hope for the best. If you don't want hassle, don't do it. Cops can pull you over for whatever reason they want and can ticket you for whatever they want. If you **** them off, they'll just keep writting the tickets to **** you off and take up your time there and at court. They won't pull you over if you have clear corners. They usually pull you over if you violate traffic laws and then its up to them whether they wanna write you up for other stuff.
The key is to stay cool as said above.
It's still a G thang!!

Looks like I found it... the Highway Traffic Act.
it's got everything from window tint, to headlamp colours and radar detectors.
However, most of the laws are quite vague, so indeed it is up to the popo that decide to pull you over. so I guess it's more useful if people just post their personal experiences with the 5-oh... post on!

Re: Laws in Ontario?
actually, let's make this clear (no pun intended).
JDM Clear Corners are LEGAL, as long as you keep your bulb amber. (i.e. the lense does not have to be amber)
but if you change the bulb to anything other than amber light, it is ILLEGAL.
now the question is, has anyone ever been pulled over JUST for clear blinkers or dark tint? or do you only get ticketed for those things if you are speeding etc?
