It went down to 105.4 today from 106.4 yesterday. It sure is a lot better than last week, but a far cry from 75.5.

Our regular is 108.8 right now. Isn't regulation a wonderful thing? Highest prices in the country.

Not nice. Ontario and Quebec seem to have the lowest prices in Canada, the rest of the provinces are up around your prices Deane. I just did a quick check on gastips.com,

Yes that seems to be the norm. You actually have something called competition. We're consistently in the highest quintile.

I just finished watching the news. Tomorrow our prices go down 4.5 cents per litre. Whew big jump.

It was 1.079 for V-Power at Shell last Friday. I thought that was a step in the right direction. Damn, how long till the rest of us see those prices?

Edit: 1.079 NOT 1.79

Deane, how does your gov't regulation work? We have only had gov't reguation for a relatively short period of time. Every second Thursday, the gov't sets the price for the next two weeks. Is it something similiar to that in NS?

^ Yes prety well the same. They can jump in a week early and make a change quicker than that using an "interrupter clause" when appropriate, such as today. It is expected prices will go down 4-5 cents today.

We had a poll released today that had 66% of people against gas regulation and 27% of people for with 7% undecided or unresponsive. It costs millions to regulate and all it does it give a couple of weeks of "stability'- not lower prices as some might mistakenly think. In fact it ensures a level of profitability for retailers and causes higher prices. It's just wrong. I hope our idiotic government gets rid of it soon along with our archaic No Sunday shopping legislation. Fortunately our big grocery stores are now fighting it in court and are expected to to prove how discriminatory the recently revamped law is.

I love this Province but not how slow it is to come into the 21st century.

There has been a lot of uproar here in NB ever since gas prices have been gov't regulated. I thought it was a great idea at first.........then I got to understand how it really works. I don't like it at all either, and most people don't here in NB.

I didn't know NS still doesn't allow Sunday shopping! I agree with you, that is VERY archaic indeed.
